Meyersdale is a borough in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, on the Casselman River, 73 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. It is part of the Johnstown, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area. In the past, Meyersdale's chief industry was the mining of coal. Meyersdale is located along the Great Allegheny Passage, a multi-use recreational trail. The Big Savage Tunnel, located southeast of Meyersdale, is the longest tunnel on the trail. The Pennsylvania Maple Festival has taken place each March in Meyersdale since 1948.

1. Fallingwater Mill Run
Fallingwater is a house designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1935 in rural southwestern Pennsylvania, 43 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. The house was built partly over a waterfall on Bear Run in the Mill Run section of Stewart Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, located in the Laurel Highlands of the Allegheny Mountains. The house was designed as a weekend home for the family of Liliane Kaufmann and her husband, Edgar J. Kaufmann, Sr., owner of Kaufmann's Department Store. After its completion, Time called Fallingwater Wright's most beautiful job, and it is listed among Smithsonian's Life List of 28 places to visit before you die. Beam Rocks rises 90 feet above the Laurel Highlands hiking trail near mile post 40. However, the top of the rocks is just a short walk from Laurel Summit Road. It offers views to the east of Laurel Ridge into Somerset County. This is a great place to hike, climb or just enjoy the day picnicking. A must see!!!

Walking along the top of the mountain near Mahanoy City, Pa you can see many wind turbines They make more noise than I expected. There was barely a breeze, but they were turning quite fast and creating electricity.
These turbines are 420 feet high
