Located below the Capitol dome , the later construction also extended the height of rotunda walls, it is the tallest part of the Capitol and has been described as its symbolic and physical heart. Its central feature is a two-lane parkway road that extends 444 miles from Natchez, Mississippi, to Nashville, Tennessee. Access to the parkway is limited, with more than fifty access points in the states of Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee.
