Nakhon Nayok is one of the central provinces of Thailand, established by the Act Establishing Changwat Samut Prakan, Changwat Nonthaburi, Changwat Samut Sakhon, and Changwat Nakhon Nayok, Buddhist Era 2489 , which came into force as of 9 March 1946. Neighboring provinces are Saraburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, Prachinburi, Chachoengsao, and Pathum Thani. Nakhon Nayok is known for its refreshing waterfalls and abundant varieties of fruits.

Dong Phaya Yen or Dong Phya Yen is a mountain range in Phetchabun, Chaiyaphum, Lopburi, Saraburi, and Nakhon Ratchasima Provinces, Thailand. As the Dong Phaya Yen is less compact and lower in height than the mountain ranges to the north and to the south, the first roads and railroads connecting the region of Isan with the capital Bangkok were built across these mountains. Before the construction of the railroad at the beginning of the 20th century, communication between these two parts of Thailand was difficult. The survey for the building of the Northeastern Line of the State Railway of Thailand began in 1887.

Khao Yai, meaning large mountain in Thai language, usually refers to an area in the Sankamphaeng mountain range of Thailand which is now Khao Yai National Park. Khao Yai is A UNESCO World Heritage Sit and Thailand’s third largest and one of the most visited national parks. It spreads across four provinces, namely Saraburi (west), Nakhon Nayok (east), Nakhon Ratchasima (north) and Prachinburi (east). The highest peak, at Khao Rom, is 1,351 metres above sea level.

Thailand: Around Nakhon Nayok.

120 km north east of Bangkok is the province of Nakhon Nayok. I spent two days recently with my Lao friend, Thawon, looking around the the surrounding area with our two month old American Pitbull puppies, Choco and Bolt. We discovered Wang Takhrai Park, Khlong Tha Dan dam, Thailand's largest dam and the world's largest and longest roller compacted concrete dam. Finally we visited Nang Rong Waterfall set against a backdrop of the jungle covered mountain side.....

Finally, found a place like home. Living in the City for over a year, everything around me is nothing but vehicles, buildings and a never ending traffic. As a nature lover, I like mountains more than being on a beach. It's more cooler and fresher.
