Nieuwe Niedorp is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Hollands Kroon, and lies about 9 kilometres northeast of Heerhugowaard. Nieuwe Niedorp was a separate municipality until 1970, when it merged with Oude Niedorp and Winkel.In 2007, the village of Nieuwe Niedorp had 3160 inhabitants. The built-up area of the village was 0.53 km², and contained 760 residences. The statistical area Nieuwe-Niedorp, which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 3200.It has a remarkably leaning church tower.

5. De Hoge Veluwe National Park Hoenderloo
Nationaal Park De Hoge Veluwe is a Dutch national park in the province of Gelderland near the cities of Ede, Wageningen, Arnhem and Apeldoorn. It is approximately 55 square kilometers in area, consisting of heathlands, sand dunes, and woodlands. It is situated in the Veluwe, the area of the largest terminal moraine in the Netherlands. Most of the landscape of the park and the Veluwe was created during the last Ice Age. The alternating sand dune areas and heathlands may have been caused by human utilization of the surrounding lands. The park forms one of the largest continuous nature reserves in the Netherlands.

St Nicholas 2010 Part 1 of 12

The Dutch community gathered at the Dutch Canadian Society on a snowy December 5, 2010 to celebrate our beloved Sinterklaas. Arriving early, the children coloured pictures for the contest while clowns entertained making balloon hats and various shapes. Face painting was also on the menu. Excitement began to build with the famous TomatoSoup band bring dancers young and old on to the floor. Various carnaval rhythms along with Christmas songs brought smiles to all the faces. The Dijkehopper Klompendansers were up next. Not only did they perform to their usual high standard but the crowd got involved by doing some of the dances with them. When the by now world famous Dutch Canadian Society Dijkehopper band began to play everyone knew the man for whom everyone had been waiting for would arrive soon. Not to disappoint, the Zwarte Pieten first made an appearance sending pepernootjes and candies through the air while children (and a few adults) scrambled as they landed at their feet. The band struck familiar Sinterklaas Tunes as the gentle old saint entered the hall. Surrounded by loving children, he slowly made his way to his special chair in front of the stage and the children, as if drawn by a magnet, came to sit in front of him. The president bid St. Nicolas welcome and some of the children serenaded him with song. Too soon it was time for him to bid farewell but not before each of the children received a bag of goodies. Sinterklaas had to make his way through the snow to go make his rounds in Holland because , after all, he took time out to visit with us on St. Nicholas eve. He did promise to come back to visit us next year again. The crowds at 1738 Gore Road in London, Ontario are getting larger. We invite all who live in London and surrounding area to visit the club and join us for the many activities available. Membership to the club is open to everyone. There is no need to be of Dutch heritage. We have numerous members who have no Dutch background. Many of our activities (Saturday Dances, Single Dances, Video Shows etc.) are open to the public.
