Last day in Meghalaya. Loved every bit of it :) had only 4 hours to explore the city but made the max out of it. Watch till the end :)

Meghalaya is a state in Northeast India. The name means the abode of clouds in Sanskrit. The population of Meghalaya as of 2016 is estimated to be 3,211,474.
The state is the wettest region of India, recording an average of 12,000 mm (470 in) of rain a year. About 70% of the state is forested. The Meghalaya subtropical forests ecoregion encompasses the state; its mountain forests are distinct from the lowland tropical forests to the north and south. The forests are notable for their biodiversity of mammals, birds, and plants.

Shillong is a hill station in northeast India and capital of the state of Meghalaya. It’s known for the manicured gardens at Lady Hydari Park. Nearby, Ward’s Lake is surrounded by walking trails. North, the Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures features displays on the region’s native people. Waterfalls include the Elephant Falls to the southwest. East of here, forested Shillong Peak offers city views.
Cherrapunjee, also known as Sohra, is a high-altitude town in the northeast Indian state of Meghalaya. It's known for its living root bridges, made from rubber trees. To the northeast, Mawkdok Dympep Valley View Point overlooks verdant gorges. In the surrounding hills, the Noh-Kalikai, Dain-Thlen and Kynrem waterfalls plunge from forested clifftops. South of town, Mawsmai Cave is illuminated to show its stalagmites.
Mawsynram is a village in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya state in north eastern India, 65 kilometres from Shillong. Mawsynram receives one of the highest rainfalls in India

Nongpoh {IPA: nɒŋˈpɒ} is the administrative centre of Ri-Bhoi district in the Indian state of Meghalaya in the Republic of India. Nongpoh is located on National Highway 40, fifty-two kilometers from the state capital Shillong and forty-eight kilometers from Guwahati in the state of Assam.
Mawlynnong is a village in the East Khasi Hills district of the Meghalaya state in North East India. It is notable for its cleanliness. It comes under the Pynursla community development block and Vidhan Sabha constituency.
The Garo Hills are part of the Garo-Khasi range in Meghalaya, India. They are inhabited mainly by tribal dwellers, the majority of whom are Garo people. It is one of the wettest places in the world. The range is part of the Meghalaya subtropical forests ecoregion.

Mairang is a sub - divisional headquarters and it is located halfway in between Shillong – Nongstoin Highway. 40 kilometers from Shillong, capital of Nongkhlaw states. 12 kilometers from Mairang lays the imposing Kyllang rock. It is a massive dome shape of single rock of granite, which measures 1,000 feet, across in diameter. Kyllang Rock is made of a single, huge solid igneous rock is situated at Mawnai about 10 kilometers from Mairang, the sub-divisional Head Quarter. The top of the dome-shape rock can accommodate a considerable number of picnickers. Lum Symper - This place is situated a few kilometers from Weiloi village on the way to Mawkyrwat. It is a beautiful picnic spot

Meghalaya Travel Diary
Meghalaya is one of the most beautiful states in the North-East India offering a variety of sights, activities, food and festivals to the tourists. It was a lifetime experience for us when we visited the place couple of months ago. We visited the place during dry season. Therefore, we could not see much of the waterfalls. We went there through tamabil - dawki border from Bangladesh. There we visited the following places:
- Mawlynnong Village (Shilong). The Mawlynnong Village in Meghalaya has been consecutively voted as Asia's cleanest village and is one of places the to visit in Meghalaya. It is hard to spot even a single piece of straw or dusty roads here.
- Umiam Lake. Located in Nongpoh, Meghalaya
- Mawsmai Cave (Shella Road, Cherapunjee)
- Living root bridge
- Nohkalikai Waterfalls
- Dawki
- Shong pedang
- Umngot River
- Cherapunji
- Shilong, the capital of Meghalaya
- Pangthumai waterfalls (as called in Bangladesh)
