    The Hickory Crawdads are a Minor League Baseball team of the South Atlantic League and the Class A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. They are located in Hickory, North Carolina, and play their home games at L. P. Frans Stadium which opened in 1993 and seats 5,092 people. The team relocated from Gastonia, North Carolina, in 1993 when Don Beaver purchased the Gastonia Rangers and moved them to his hometown of Hickory.The Crawdads won the South Atlantic League championship in 2002, 2004, and 2015. The team has qualified for the postseason ten times and reached the finals three times.
