  • 1. Wolf Creek Ski Resort Pagosa Springs
    Wolf Creek Pass is a high mountain pass on the Continental Divide, in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. It is the route through which U.S. Highway 160 passes from the San Luis Valley into southwest Colorado on its way to New Mexico and Arizona. The pass is notable as inspiration of a C. W. McCall song. The pass is significantly steep on either side and can be dangerous in winter. There are two runaway truck ramps on the westbound side for truckers that lose control of their brakes.

    Purgatory Resort is a ski resort located in the San Juan Mountains of Southwest Colorado, 25 miles north of the town of Durango. Established in 1965, Purgatory offers 99 trails, including 5 terrain parks, over 1,500 skiable acres,88 trails and 12 lifts, including one six-person and one high speed quad lift. Average annual snowfall is 260 inches per year, and artificial snow is produced on approximately one-fifth of the mountain. The elevation at the summit is 10,822 feet , with a vertical drop of 2,029 feet .

    Crested Butte is a home rule municipality in Gunnison County, Colorado, United States. The town population was 1,487 at the 2010 United States Census. The former coal mining town is now called the last great Colorado ski town. Crested Butte is a destination for skiing, mountain biking, and a variety of other outdoor activities. The Colorado General Assembly has designated Crested Butte the Wildflower Capital of Colorado.
