Northwestern Federal District is one of the eight federal districts of Russia. It consists of the northern part of European Russia. Its population was 13,616,057 according to the 2010 Census, living in an area of 1,687,000 square kilometers . The current Envoy to the Northwestern Federal District is undecided since October 3, 2018 when former Envoy Alexander Beglov was removed from the position and made acting Governor of Saint Petersburg.

    The Saint Petersburg Metro is a rapid transit system in Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast, Russia. It has been open since 15 November 1955. Formerly known as the V.I. Lenin Order of Lenin Leningrad Metropoliten , the system exhibits many typical Soviet designs and features exquisite decorations and artwork making it one of the most attractive and elegant metros in the world. Due to the city's unique geology, the Saint Petersburg Metro is one of the deepest metro systems in the world and the deepest by the average depth of all the stations. The system's deepest station, Admiralteyskaya, is 86 metres below ground. Serving about 2 million passengers daily, it is also the 19th busiest metro system in the world.

  • 8. Marine Passenger Terminal St Petersburg
    The Sea Facade is a project of additional expansion of St. Petersburg, on Vasilievsky Island at the Neva river's mouth. In these new territories the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg will be created along with a considerable amount of residential and commercial space. The Western Rapid Diameter highway will be built across these lands. This project is being implemented within the framework of a public-private partnership between the Saint Petersburg City Administration and Marine Facade Management Company. The primary goal of this project is to build the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg by reclaiming new territories of 476 hectares from the Neva Bay in the Gulf of Finland.
