Novosibirsk is the third-most populous city in Russia, after Moscow and St. Petersburg. It is the most populous city in Asian Russia, with a population of 1,612,833 as of the 2018 Census, and is the administrative center of Novosibirsk Oblast as well as of the Siberian Federal District. The city is located in the southwestern part of Siberia on the banks of the Ob River adjacent to the Ob River Valley, near the large water reservoir formed by the dam of the Novosibirsk Hydro Power Plant.   • 2. Monument of Laboratory Mice Novosibirsk
    The Monument to the laboratory mouse is a sculpture in the city of Novosibirsk in Siberia, Russia. It is located in a park in front of the Institute of Cytology and Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and was completed on July 1, 2013, coinciding with the 120th anniversary of the founding of the city. According to Nikolai Kolchanov, the director of the institute, the monument commemorates the sacrifice of the mice in genetic research used to understand biological and physiological mechanisms for developing new drugs and curing of diseases.

    The Bugrinsky Bridge is an automobile bridge over the Ob River in Novosibirsk, Russia. The construction of the bridge began in February 2010 and finished in October 2014. It is the third automobile bridge over the Ob River in the city of Novosibirsk. The former name Olovozavodskoy bridge was later changed to Burginsky because it crosses the Bugrinskaya grove on the left bank of the Ob, which is located next to one of the world's largest tin factory. Former city Mayor Vladimir Gorodetsky noted that the name Olovozavodskoy is two decades old and already outdated. On December, 3rd 2013 a commission decided unanimously to name the third bridge over the Ob River in Novosibirsk as Bugrinsky. The bridge was opened for traffic on October 11, 2014.

    Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is the Eastern Orthodox Cathedral in Novosibirsk, Russia, named in honor of Saint Alexander Nevsky. It is one of the first stone constructions in Novonikolayevsk . The church was built in Neo-Byzantine architectural style in 1896–1899. The building design was influenced by the design of Church of Our Lady the Merciful in St.Petersburg built a few years earlier.It was opened and consecrated on December 29, 1899. In 1915 it became a cathedral. The cathedral was a specific monument to Tsar Alexander III who initiated construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway which resulted in foundation of Novonikolayevsk as a new railway station.
