Nuwakot District (Nepali: नुवाकोट जिल्ला Listen , a part of Province No. 3, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal, a landlocked country of South Asia. The district, with Bidur as its district headquarters, covers an area of 1,121 km² and had a population of 288,478 in 2001 and 277,471 in 2011.The district contains places of historical significance such as Nuwakot 7-storey old palace located at the top of hill named after the district itself, the village of Devighat located at the confluence of the Tadi and Trishuli Rivers.

    The Langtang National Park is the fourth national park in Nepal and was established in 1976 as the first Himalayan national park. The protected area exceeds an altitudinal range of 6,450 m and covers an area of 1,710 km2 in the Nuwakot, Rasuwa and Sindhulpalchok districts of the central Himalayan region encompassing 26 Village Executives. It is linked with the Qomolangma National Nature Preserve in Tibet. The high altitude sacred lake of Gosainkunda falls within the park. The Gosainkunda lake and the Dorje Lakpa range bisect the park from east–west to south–east. The summit of Langtang Lirung is the highest point in the park.The northern and eastern border of the national park coincide with the international border to Tibet.
