Budoni is a comune in the Province of Sassari in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 170 kilometres northeast of Cagliari and about 30 kilometres southeast of Olbia. A little gem of the Baronie area on the north-eastern coast of Sardinia, the town of Budoni lies close to small coves, fascinating cliffs and long beaches of fine white sand.
Its favourable geographical position is also home to small brackish lagoons, where you can find the typical ‘tamerici’ plants, reeds and colonies of pink flamingos. The settlement is arranged around the church of San Giovanni Battista, the village parish, dating back to 1969. An interesting place to visit is the Museum of Stazzo located in the centre of the village.
There are many reasons to visit Budoni: enchanting scenic landscapes which combine green hills and deep blue sea; the stunningly pristine beaches; the quality of the welcome programme; and the complex range of events on offer.
Budoni is famous for its nightlife. Home to many nightclubs, discos and bars, the nightlife here is particularly sophisticated and entertaining, no matter what time of year.
Amongst the most beautiful beaches of Budoni, having earned its name for a reason, is Cala Budoni (Budoni Cove), a few hundred metres from the village. It is a beach with fine white sand, 4 kilometres long, that stretches from Punta Li Cucutti to Punta Porto Ainu, taking on different names depending on the area: Li Salineddi, Salamaghe, Lido del Sole, Sa Capannizza. And what is more, Porto Ainu beach and St. Anne’s beach enjoy the most picturesque of landscapes, looking onto a small island.
Also of great significance is the port of Ottiolu, with more than 400 berths, equipped with numerous amenities and an ideal starting point for a short cruise to discover the magnificent coves of the coast. A few kilometres from the residence there is the beautiful old town of Posada, home to Fava Castle, which boasts beautiful beaches awarded 5 stars for the past several years and is one of the most beautiful towns in Italy.
Always close by is Calletta harbour with its beautiful night-lit promenade enriched by a multi-ethnic market throughout the summer (July-August). There are daily ferries that give you the opportunity to tour the magnificent Gulf of Orosei (Cala Luna, Cala mariolu etc. Nearby you can visit and learn about various archaeological sites like Nuraghe San Pietro, Domus De Janas, Tombs of the Giants etc. and appreciate the beauty of our traditions in the neighbouring villages by participating in events that are currently held almost weekly.

Acque di Porto Ottiolu a Budoni ~ 24 Giugno 2019 | Sardegna
Il tratto di costa a sud della spiaggia di Porto Ottiolu è l'ideale per praticare lo snorkeling.
Una volta indossate maschera, pinne e actioncam e nuotando verso l'Isolotto di Ottiolu che dista appena 250 metri dalla costa, è possibile esplorare i bassi fondali rocciosi della zona circondati dalla brulicante vita marina.
La spiaggia della Marina di Porto Ottiolu è una piccola perla incastonata fra la macchia mediterranea e il mare blu e cristallino della costa occidentale della Sardegna.
Questo tratto di costa lungo circa 500 metri é formato da sabbia bianca e fine e si snoda tra l'area portuale del borgo a nord e le scogliere a pelo d'acqua a sud.
Il litorale prende il nome dal grazioso borgo marino di Porto Ottiolu, un insieme di case vacanza e villaggi con vista sulla marina, disseminata di ristoranti e locali dove trascorrere piacevoli serate estive.
Le sue acque basse, trasparenti, cristalline e il litorale non troppo ampio rende questo tratto di costa relativamente sicuro anche per famiglie con bambini, anziani e disabili.
Sono presenti due stabilimenti con ombrelloni e lettini, bar e altri servizi; è presente anche un percorso gonfiabile galleggiante dove i bimbi potranno trascorrere ore divertenti.
La sicurezza inoltre è garantita dal servizio di salvataggio attivo in ampia fascia oraria.
La spiaggia sembra scomparire dietro l’angolo a sud, ricco di piscine naturali e limpide, in realtà svoltato l'angolo appare un ampio tratto di costa che, se percorso per oltre 600 metri, conduce alla pineta di Budoni, luogo dove è possibile trovare pace e silenzio lontano dal frastuono dell’alta stagione.
Come raggiungerla, dove parcheggiare e spiagge vicine:
Questo piccolo angolo di paradiso dista appena 27 chilometri da Olbia ed è situato a metà strada fra San Teodoro e Posada, località molto rinomate e ambite dal turismo estivo.
Il parcheggio più vicino alla spiaggia è a pagamento ma è molto economico, costa appena 0,50€ l'ora.
Tuttavia, se siete amanti del parcheggio gratuito e fare due passi non è un problema, potete trovarlo nelle traverse a sinistra della strada porta alla spiaggia ( Via del Porto ).
La spiaggia si trova a breve distanza dalle calette di Punta li Turchi, Punta de Li Francesi e Poltu Quatu ( un’affascinante baia nascosta fra le rocce ), ma anche dalle spiagge più visitate della costa come le meravigliose Cala Brandichi e La Cinta a San Teodoro.
