The mine shaft descends 1,000 feet into the mountain, a depth roughly equal to the height of the Empire State Building in New York City. The mine currently gives tours, and is visited by around 40,000 people annually. The addition of the mines and subsequent tours of this mine and others in the area had considerable effect on the economies of both Victor, Colorado and Cripple Creek.

The trail is the remains of a former 3 ft narrow gauge funicular railway whose tracks washed out during a rock slide in 1990. The Incline is famous for its sweeping views and steep grade, with an average grade of 45% and as steep as 68% in places, making it a fitness challenge for locals of the Colorado Springs area. Beach Camping: Boondocking at Prewitt Resevoir Colorado

This week we found the beaches of Colorado! Prewitt Reserve is located near Fort Morgan, Colorado. The Reserve was established to provide water to the sugar beet farms in Colorado and has great camping spots all around the lake. Since we have arrived we have enjoyed playing on the long stretches of beaches, kayaking, hanging out with 1st Class RV Adventures, and enjoying the cool breezes off the lake. This is one of those incredible boondocking spots that is not widely traveled!

▶About Us: John is a 3x Combat Veteran (Army), Laura was a Veterinary Technician, in 2016 they downsized and sold nearly everything they owned and moved into a 5th Wheel (Cedar Creek), bought a dually and left their former lives behind for travel and adventures. They travel with one cat (Socks) and 2 Dogs (Bullet and Kimber) all over the United States. Their rig went back to the factory in 2017, helped film a movie were cast in the movie RV Nomads, and wrote a book called #RVLife: Seeking Happiness Through A Nomadic Life. #RVLife is the first in a series written about their journey to freedom by bucking societal norms and living their own adventures.

Beaver Creek Reservoir (300 acres) is a short drive up the road from the campground. There is a boat ramp. Trolling motors and wake-less boats are ok.

Directions:
Lower Beaver Creek Campground is under 5 miles from South Fork Colorado. Head SW on US Hwy 160 for a little over a mile, then turn on Beaver Creek Road for 3 miles.
