Philipsburg is a borough in Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located at 40°53′42″N 78°13′09″W . It is part of the State College, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area. The borough's population was 2,770 at the 2010 census.

1. Grant-Kohrs Ranch Deer Lodge
The Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site, created in 1972, commemorates the Western cattle industry from its 1850s inception through recent times. The original ranch was established in 1862 by a Canadian fur trader, Johnny Grant, at Cottonwood Creek, Montana , along the banks of the Clark Fork river. The ranch was later expanded by a cattle baron, Conrad Kohrs . The 1,618 acres historic site is maintained today as a working ranch by the National Park Service.

2. Horseshoe Curve National Historic Landmark Altoona Pennsylvania
Horseshoe Curve is a three-track railroad curve on Norfolk Southern Railway's Pittsburgh Line in Blair County, Pennsylvania. The curve itself is about 2,375 feet long and 1,300 feet in diameter; it was completed in 1854 by the Pennsylvania Railroad as a way to lessen the grade to the summit of the Allegheny Mountains. It eventually replaced the time-consuming Allegheny Portage Railroad, the only other route across the mountains for large vehicles. The rail line has been important since its opening, and during World War II the Curve was targeted by Nazi Germany in 1942 as part of Operation Pastorius. The Curve was later owned and used by Pennsylvania Railroad successors Penn Central, Conrail, and Norfolk Southern. Horseshoe Curve was added to the National Register of Historic Places and des...

Garnet Ghost Town | Abandoned Gold Mining Town | Montana | USA | HD

Garnet is a ghost town in Granite County, Montana, United States. Located on the dirt Garnet Range Road, it is an abandoned mining town that dates from the 1860s. In First Chance Gulch in western Montana, the town is located 11 miles up the Garnet Range Road, in mountains and forest. The town is at about 6,000 feet (1,800 m) elevation.The town was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Garnet Historic District, a historic district, in 2010. The listing included 82 contributing buildings, 46 contributing structures, and 56 contributing sites, as well as four non-contributing buildings, on 134 acres.
Garnet was famous for its saloons; at its peak, the saloons were one of the hottest spots in Garnet.
