fishing port of just three dozen homes, Rabac has grown in recent years into a resort town with numerous villas and apartment buildings.
Rabac, the busy tourist paradise can be approached through the city of Labin built on a mountain. New hotels and villas are being built at an amazing pace on the limestone hills overgrown with evergreens. The bay is equally popular with sailors, surfers, water skiers and swimmers. From its promenade and from the terraces of its restaurants, we can enjoy the sight of white boats swerving on the emerald green water. On its beaches, thousands of tourists enjoy the sunshine and the caressing water of the Adriatic. It's good to know that the small catsharks living here are harmless to humans. However, because of sea urchins, wearing plastic sandals is recommended. In the clear water, we can see a crowd of sea animals.
We can take diving goggles along but it's also possible to buy them on the spot. Those who would like to dive deeper can participate in diving training programs or tours of the bigger coastal cities. Individual divers are given a permit by the harbor authorities. It's also possible to rent or buy equipment. On the beaches, topless sunbathing is allowed and there are also a lot of nudist beaches which are separate from the others.

Europe 2018: Fell in love with Groznjan
My classmates had a great opportunity to do a one week field school in Groznjan, Croatia so we took it. This course involved learning about the histories of cities and also how we can project the essence of a city through film. We enjoyed the beautiful town of Groznjan because it has so much culture to teach us. To be honest, I have never heard of this place ever in my life but I have to say, everyone should visit this quiet town once in their life because I have totally fallen in love with it.

Kroatien Doku Istrien Pula und Co.
Die Halbinsel Istrien besteht größtenteils aus Kalkgestein. Die Küste ist tief gegliedert, einige Meeresarme wie der Limski-Kanal (zwischen Vrsar und Rovinj) oder die Bucht von Plomin-Fianona reichen tief ins Innenland und haben fjordähnlichen Charakter. Die Strände sind meist Kiesel- oder Felsstrände. Sandstrände findet man in ganz Istrien nur sehr selten, wie z.B. in Medulin. Bedeutend ist der Fremdenverkehr an der Küste, der eine bis ins 19. Jahrhundert zurückreichende Tradition hat. Die höchste Erhebung in Istrien ist der Berg Vojak (1401 m) im Učka-Gebirge.
Wirtschaftliches Zentrum und größte Stadt Istriens ist die Hafenstadt Pula. Bekannte Badeorte sind Medulin, Rovinj, Poreč, Ičići, Lovran, Medveja, Mošćenička Draga, Opatija und Umag im kroatischen sowie Koper, Portorož, Piran und Izola im slowenischen Teil; Muggia und San Dorligo della Valle in Italien.
Im nördlichen und mittleren Teil Istriens liegen die Orte meist auf markanten Hügeln, was der Landschaft einen besonderen Reiz verleiht. Inneristrien ist recht dünn besiedelt. Die wichtigsten Orte hier sind Motovun, Buzet, Buje sowie Grožnjan, das vor allem durch seine Künstlerkolonie sowie durch Musikaufführungen bekannt wurde. Die Bevölkerung lebt vom seit Jahrzehnten traditionell bestehenden Tourismus, von Landwirtschaft und arbeitet in den lokalen Industriebetrieben. Weinanbau wird in diesen Regionen intensiv betrieben, vor allem werden der gelbe bis grünliche, leicht bittere Malvazija sowie der helle rote Teran gekeltert. In der Gegend um Motovun werden hervorragende Trüffel gefunden, die von manchen Kennern zu den besten der Welt gezählt werden. Auch der Kaiserling (Amanita caesarea) zählt zu den istrischen Pilzspezialitäten.
Das Landesinnere Istriens ist reich an bemerkenswerten Baudenkmälern. Oft sind es kleine, unscheinbare Kirchen, die mit meist gut erhaltenen Fresken beeindrucken. Am bekanntesten ist das Marienkirchlein von Beram mit einem grandiosen Totentanzzyklus. In den Feldern findet man vereinzelt sehr alte Kažuns – Schutzhütten aus Stein, die in früheren Zeiten die Bauern und Hirten gebaut haben.
Die südliche Spitze der Halbinsel bildet das Naturschutzgebiet Kap Kamenjak (Capo Promontore- Rt Kamenjak oder auch Donji Kamenjak) mit seiner einzigartigen Flora und Fauna.
Die Küstenlänge der westkroatischen Region Istrien beträgt 537 Kilometer. An manchen Felsküstenabschnitten unter anderem nahe Rovinj und im Nationalpark Brijuni findet man direkt am Strand versteinerte Dinosaurier-Fußabdrücke.

Split Travel
Split Travel - Split is a city in Central Dalmatia, Croatia, and the seat of the Split-Dalmatia county. The city was originally built around the Diocletian palace (a palace/fort built for the retired Roman emperor Diocletian) where the locals sought refuge centuries ago. Wandering the historic centre of Split you can still clearly see the Roman walls, squares, and temples.
Because of its ideal climate, with 2,800 hours of sunlight each year, local people have a few nicknames for Split: The most beautiful city in the world and Mediterranean flower. Many famous Croatian sports people were born in Split, so locals often nicknamed their city The sportiest city in the world. The most popular sport institution is the football club Hajduk. Large portions of the city are painted with the club's colors and logo. This is done by Torcida, the oldest supporters group in Europe, established in 1950. Besides the bell tower of St. Duje, the symbols of city are the Dalmatian dog and a donkey. Locals have a high regard for the donkey because of its past indispensable place in field work and transport across the Dalmatian mountains.
Winters in Split are generally mild, with temperatures above 0°C, but despite the popular saying that the city experiences snowfall once every 30 years, there is actually at least one snowy day nearly every winter, usually in January or early February. If you find yourself in Split on a day with significant snowfall, expect serious traffic disruption.
