Prairie Grove is a city in Washington County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 4,380 at the 2010 Census. It is part of the Northwest Arkansas region, and home to Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park. The park spans a large amount of land and contains a visitor center, museum, several monuments, a driving tour and a collection of period buildings and homes.

Devil's Den State Park is a 2,500-acre Arkansas state park in Washington County, near West Fork, Arkansas in the United States. The park was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, beginning in 1933. Devil's Den State Park is in the Lee Creek Valley in the Boston Mountains, which are the southwestern part of The Ozarks. The park, with an 8 acres CCC-built lake, is open for year-round recreation, with trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Devil's Den State Park also has several picnic areas, a swimming pool and cabins, with camping sites ranging from modern to primitive. Fossils of coral and crinoids can be found along the banks and within Lee Creek at Devil's Den State Park.

In the Ozark National Forest north of Oark, down in Accord Hollow…is Accord Hollow Falls – a beautiful multi-tiered waterfall worth the hike. The annual Tulip Extravaganza at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs from mid-March to April is a must-see experience. One of the few original phone booths in the nation that’s still in operation and is the only such structure listed on the National Register of Historic Places, happens to be in Prairie Grove. The Hollis Country Store in the Ouachita National Forest, is one of those early 1900’s stores time forgot – where folks go not just to shop, but to chat and enjoy Connie Hawks’ famous baloney sandwiches

Exploring America's Battlefields: Pea Ridge Arkansas' Largest Northern Victory

Visiting a piece of America's history is always something at the top of my list, so many times I find myself venturing out to battlefields to see first hand the historic depictions of our early years as a country. Not only are they a great place to visit to learn more about the history of the United States, but many times you might be shocked at just how incredibly peaceful these hallowed grounds happen to be. As a part of the America the Beautiful Pass program, admission to these is covered and many find their way to these sites for a great hiking get away with well maintained trails.

Showing campsites at Horseshoe Bend Campground

So about my dog...

At about 2:40 into the video, my dog makes an appearance at the worst time. We had him in the car for most of our trip and he was anxious to get out. Nobody else was at the campground at the time I made the video, so we let him wander to stretch his legs.

Later that evening, someone else brought a dog and didn't know we had one since we had put Bear in the tent. The other dog came running up to our tent trying to get to our dog. I was trying to zip up the tent but both dogs were trying to sniff each other. There was not hostility on either dog's part and the owner felt bad about his dog coming into our camp. No harm, no foul.

We did keep him on a leash once I finished filming the video for the rest of the time we were there. But yeah, he should have been on a leash at all times, like the sign says.

My Walton Mountain Museum Trip

This is a trip we took to Schuyler, Virginia April, 2009 to see the Waltons Mountain Museum. If you are a Walton fan, you will like it. The museum is inside a old schoolhouse. You can buy things at the General Store inside there. I know I didnt look happy at the post office window but its that I dont like being in pictures is all. LOL! I have never heard the whole entire theme song before. Its by The Daniel Caine Orchestra playing. You can find out more about the museum at this link.
