  • 2. Palazzo Roverella Rovigo
    The Palazzo Roverella is a Renaissance-style palace located at the Corner of Corso della Giovecca and Via Boldini, in Ferrara, Italy. The design and construction of the palace is attributed to Biagio Rossetti, as commissioned by Gaetano Magnanini, secretary of Duke Alfonso I d'Este. It is built at the start of the region built as the Addizione Erculea. The palace became property of the Roverella family in the 19th century. The varying rhythm of placement of the windows and the terra-cotta pilasters with decoration recalling grotteschi, with stone bases, give the facade an early-Mannerist-style. Above the pilasters are relief busts.The palace should not be confused with a Palazzo Roverella, Rovigo, also attributed to Rossetti, and which now serves as the town painting gallery.

Located in Piazza della Scala in the Palazzo Brentani and the Palazzo Anguissola, it hosts 195 artworks from the collections of Fondazione Cariplo with a strong representation of nineteenth century Lombard painters and sculptors, including Antonio Canova and Umberto Boccioni. A new section was opened in the Palazzo della Banca Commerciale Italiana on October 25, 2012 with 189 art works from the twentieth century. During the 2017 Corporate Art Awards Ceremony hosted by the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella at the Quirinal Palace , Gallerie di Piazza Scala received a special award as “Patron of the XXI century” .

    Pope John XXIII was head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City State from 28 October 1958 to his death in 1963; he was canonized on 27 April 2014. The church is dedicated to Saint Michael , the holder of the scales on Judgement Day, a fit guardian of the sleep of the faithful dead. The island cemetery now includes the land of the formerly separate island of San Cristoforo. This church is sometimes referred to as San Michele di Murano, although this islet is separate from islands comprising that town.
