New Mexico is a constituent state of the United States of America. It became the 47th state of the union in 1912. New Mexico ranks fifth among the 50 United State states in terms of total area and is bounded by Colorado to the north, Oklahoma and Texas to the east.
New Mexico has some of the flattest land as well as some of the most rugged mountains in the country and it was described as The Land of Enchantment. The highest mountain peaks, Wheeler Peak and Truchas Peak are in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in the north-central part of the state. The Rocky Mountains extend into the north-central part of the state.

Today we explore Albuquerque, New Mexico. Being a Breaking Bad fan I started my day by visiting some of the show's locations, including Twister's also known as Los Pollos Hermanos, Walter Whites house, the Car Wash, and Hank's home. Then I went to Old Town, had lunch at the oldest house Church Street Cafe. Then I visited the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History, and finally took a ride on the Sandia Peak Tramway.

Come along on our first day of two with our family in Albuquerque, New Mexico! We found a few places for everyone to have fun, especially the kids.
As many times as we've pasted through Albuquerque, we haven't taken much time to stop and explore the area. This weekend provided a great opportunity to stop and stay a while!
We all enjoyed short, but steep hike at Petroglyph National Monument, then off to A Park Above where the kids had a blast. We also drove on a musical road! There are only 2 in the country, so we wanted to make sure and stop by while we were in town. With this musical road, there were rumble strips to drive on that were closer to the middle of the lane than normal rumble strips. I think you have to drive 40 mph to hear America the Beautiful song. So awesome!

Day trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and a Epic Fail in the Mountains
I go on a day trip to explore Santa Fe, New Mexico by foot. We visit the historic plaza, the Loretto Chapel and it's miraculous staircase, the St. Francis Cathedral, Artsy Canyon Road, and the oldest house in the United States. Then I get lost in the mountains looking for the Tent Rocks, and the road was closed.
