Sayre is the largest borough in Bradford County, Pennsylvania, 18 miles southeast of Elmira, New York. In the past, various iron products were made there. In 1900, 5,243 people lived there; in 1910, 6,426 people lived there, and in 1940, 7,569 persons made their homes in Sayre. The population was 5,587 at the 2010 census.Sayre is part of the Penn-York Valley , a group of four contiguous communities in New York and Pennsylvania: Waverly, New York; South Waverly, Pennsylvania; Sayre; Athens, Pennsylvania, and smaller surrounding communities with a combined population near 35,000. Sayre is the principal city of the Sayre, PA Micropolitan Statistical Area.

    Greek Peak Mountain Resort is a ski resort, with a vertical drop of 952 feet , located near Cortland, New York. Greek Peak offers day and night skiing 7 days a week from late December until mid March. This mountain features 55 trails with varied terrain. It also has 6 lifts, 2 magic carpet lifts, and a tubing center with a tubing handle tow. A cross country Nordic center featuring 10 trails is also available. A terrain park with various elements is also located on the mountain along with the Progression Park, which is more suited for people just starting out in the parks. Greek Peak also offers lessons for all ages and every level of skier or boarder. They have babysitting available for non-skiing infants and toddlers as well.
