Schirmeck is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. It is the location of the Alsace-Moselle Memorial museum. The name of the town means protected place. In Lorraine dialect it is called Chermec. The inhabitants are known as Schirmeckois.

Another amazing deal from AirBnB: $100/night for a 2 bedroom apartment in Strasbourg's Petite France neighborhood! This place was a short walk from the train station yet was very quiet, had a gorgeous courtyard, was fully stocked with coffee and tea, was right across from a grocery store, and had really cool architecture. However, it easily had the smallest WC I've ever seen in my life - my knees were practically touching the wall!

These are French farm fields in France along the A35 autoroute at various places between the Swiss border and Strasbourg as they appeared on June 26, 2016. Going back through my original footage I discovered that I had a lot of fields and being interested very much in agriculture being a farm owner myself, I thought some people might be interested to see what French fields looked like late June of 2016. My understanding is that this was an unusually wet year in France and you can indeed see water in some of the fields.
