Driving from Gretna, VA to Virginia Beach, VA via US29 & I64
My trip is coming to an end. I spent a few days in Gretna with my folks, but now it's time to get back on the road. Only a few more hours until I get back home. It's been great, but I'm looking forward to getting there. :)
My Sony HXR-NX100 rode shotgun on a tripod shooting at 4 fps. The tripod was held in place using bungee cords giving it I nice smooth feel, even on bumpy roads. I also used this same camera to shoot various scenes around the country, and to interview folks.

SCARED FOR MY LIFE! Sailing at 22 knots boat speed down HUGE waves (Sailing La Vagabonde) Ep. 105
Yep, La Vagabonde reached 22.7 knots boat speed. We couldn’t believe it. With a max of 28 knots wind behind us from about 120 degrees, we surfed down one wave and then caught the next one in front of that. Before we knew it we were all looking at a 22.7 on the nav gear. I had a close eye on the bows making sure they weren't going to bury, they looked like they might but Riley promised me that it was normal and fine!! Matthieu says we could have got 25 knots so looks like Riley will be aiming for that next time… I never thought I’d go this fast on a sail boat. Still in recovery from this wild experience. Very happy to still be here to tell you this tale, to be alive and writing this very description is a miracle. I love you guys, Elayna.

HELP US SAVE THE OCEANS
Since we live on the ocean and love it so much, we are trying to help save it. We changed all of our sunscreen, shampoos and body soaps on-board to ensure they are lake, river and reef friendly. Please, if we can influence one thing you do, make the change with us and help us save the ocean!
Anthropology of the Dutch: the Netherlands Marine Corps
Michael Schaap is studying in the tough world of the marines, made of physically and mentally strong men (because there are no women), with an unprecedented not fooling around doers mentality and always with a strong sense of responsibility, even when the beer is served. But beware of your words: these are men who are looking for their boundaries. Not in the last place on the battlefront.
Original Title: De Hokjesman - De Mariniers
Fascinated by the prevailing pigeonhole spirit, the pigeonhole man goes on field research into the world of appealing Dutch subcultures. With a wink to the classical ethnologist, dressed in a three-piece suit with a bow tie, he analyzes the man as one of the animal groups.

Steve Bunker Dec. 7, 2003 Oral History Interview
Steve Bunker's background and a major love is the sea. Also a history buff, he originally came to Baltimore to help build a Baltimore Clipper in Baltimore Harbor, stayed on for a few years as Baltimore's maritime historian and eventually opened his shop in Fell's Point, The China Sea, a marine-salvage and antique shop complete with live parrots. A community leader for many years, Steve is remembered for representing the working waterfront community and helping to moderate development. He and Sharon Bondroff moved their shop to Maine in 1999 after they decided they could no longer afford the rents in Fell's Point.
In this interview, Steve tells his stories about Fell's Point and its history. The interview was conducted in his home in Maine on February 8, 2003 by Jacquie and Kraig Greff of Tonal Vision LLC in preparation for the documentary, Fell's Point Out of Time.
