  • 1. Giordana Velodrome Rock Hill
    Giordana Velodrome is a cycling track in Rock Hill, South Carolina, United States. It opened in March 2012. The 250-meter track is made of concrete with a 42.5 degree embankment in the corners and a 17 degree embankment on the front and back straights. The velodrome is part of the Rock Hill Outdoor Center. U.S. national track cycling championships will be held there in 2012 and 2013. The velodrome was designed by Ralph Schürmann, a cycling track architect from Münster, Germany. Giordana Velodrome is going to be the center of a recreational area, of which the construction is still in progress. Additional cycling venues, athletic fields, parks, gardens and greenspace are planned nearby.

    The Spanish Moss Trail is a partially built rail trail in northern Beaufort County, South Carolina. Following the path of the former Port Royal Railroad on a right-of-way now owned by Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority, it follows a north–south path from Seabrook to Port Royal while passing through Burton and Beaufort. It is a paved 12-foot-wide path utilized for walking, jogging, cycling, and inline skating. As of December 2012, just under one mile of the trail had been finished along the most densely populated section of the trail in the City of Beaufort. Once completed, the distance of the main trail currently will be 14.9 miles . It is a contributing segment of the East Coast Greenway.     Hamilton Branch State Park is located near the town of Plum Branch in McCormick County. It sits on a 731-acre peninsula in Lake Strom Thurmond. The park became part of the South Carolina State Park Service in 1972, with land leased from the United States Army Corps of Engineers.Amenities in the park include lakefront camping sites, picnic shelters, a playground and two boat ramps for access to the lake. The park office sells limited supplies and souvenirs and also rents out a number of games for guests. A short bike trail provides access to the Steven's Creek Bike Trail. The park is a popular spot for geocaching, fishing and bird watching.
