Spofford is an unincorporated community in the northeastern part of the town of Chesterfield in Cheshire County, New Hampshire, United States. It is situated at the outlet of Spofford Lake and is located along New Hampshire Route 9A. While no population figures are available for Spofford, it is slightly larger than the town-center village of Chesterfield. Children who live in Spofford go to Chesterfield School. Spofford has a different ZIP code from the rest of Chesterfield. Home to Spofford Lake, there are two different beaches to visit. 1. Spofford Lake Spofford
Spofford Lake is a 732-acre water body located in Cheshire County in southwestern New Hampshire, United States, in the town of Chesterfield. Water from Spofford Lake flows via Partridge Brook to the Connecticut River. In 2005 the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department named it the cleanest lake in southwestern New Hampshire, despite the amount of motor boating. The village of Spofford is located at the lake's outlet.

Hidden Gems of New Hampshire: Chesterfield Gorge

Chesterfield Gorge Natural Area spans 13 acres. The park offers a nice spot to picnic and great opportunities for hiking as you explore the footpaths along the gorge and enjoy the scenic views.

A short distance from the Visitor Center is trail which is 7/10’s of a mile and follows Wilde Brook through Chesterfield Gorge. As you enter the trail you will find yourself in a hemlock forest. With the canopy dominated by hemlock trees, you will find your walk to be shaded and quiet.

One of the most beautiful swimming and picnic beaches in New Hampshire! Wadleigh State Park covers more than 50 acres on the southeastern shore of Kezar Lake. The smooth sandy beach and crystal clear water make this an excellent spot for swimming and watersports.

Madame Sherri Castle Ruins - Mine Mountain (Mineshaft)

Best viewed in 1080P. This adventure brought us back to Chesterfield, NH to visit the castle ruins of Madame Sherri an eccentric resident of NH. The ruins are quite a sight to see and the history of this woman is very interesting. While we were there we followed the Anna Stokes Loop Trail to Mt. Wantastiquet Trail and off to the Mine Ledges for a great view. Most people don’t know that below those ledges there is a mine, so we explored that too. We were able to get some Geocaching done in the area also. This is a great hike with a lotof history. Due to the length of the video, we only showed some of our finds.

Hidden Gems of New Hampshire: Rhododendron State Park

As New Hampshire’s only botanical park, this natural area has a lot to offer for nature- and flower-lovers alike. It is most famous for its magnificent flowering display, which takes place when the rhododendrons bloom in mid-July.

Follow the 0.6-mile Rhododendron Trail Loop for the best displays. The entire walk is a little more than half a mile over gentle terrain.

Hidden Gems of New Hampshire: Wentworth State Park

Lake Wentworth is a smaller, quieter sister to Lake Winnipesaukee and the beach at Wentworth State Park is a great way to access it.

The park has a nice sandy beach with a gradual slope and there are both shady & sunny areas on the beach making it a great location for a family day by the lake. The water remains pretty calm here and is a good temperature for swimming. It’s also shallow throughout much of the swimming area so kids can splash around quite easily.
