Stevensville is a town in Ravalli County, Montana, United States. The population was 1,809 at the 2010 census. Stevensville is officially recognized as the first permanent settlement in the state of Montana. Forty-eight years before Montana became the nation's 41st state, Stevensville was settled by Jesuit Missionaries at the request of the Bitter Root Salish Amerindians.

    Indiana Dunes State Park is an Indiana State Park located 47 miles east of Chicago, Illinois, United States. The park is bounded by Lake Michigan to the northwest, and is surrounded on all four sides by the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, a unit of the National Park Service . The 1,530 acres Dunes Nature Preserve makes up the bulk of eastern part of the park, and includes most of the park’s hiking trails and dune landscape. This was one of the first places Richard Lieber considered when establishing the Indiana State Park system. Like all Indiana state parks, there is a fee for entrance. It was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1974.Preserving the Indiana Dunes has resulted from the efforts of many citizens and politicians.

    Grand Mere State Park is a public recreation and nature preservation area in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Michigan near Stevensville. The state park is located adjacent to Interstate 94. Protected from Lake Michigan by the dunes to the west, the park has many natural features not found throughout the rest of the state. In 1968 it was designated a National Natural Landmark.The 985-acre park is mostly wooded and has three geologically ancient inland lakes, left behind as the glaciers receded during the last ice age. At one time there were five such lakes, but two of the lakes have disappeared as a result of aquatic succession, and the remaining three can be seen to be slowly disappearing today.The dunes protecting the park also create a relatively cool environment that supports...
