The town is the administrative centre of Hadsel municipality. In 2000, Stokmarknes received town status. The 2.29-square-kilometre town has a population of 3,286. Hurtigruten is a Norwegian cruise, ferry and cargo operator. The company was founded in 1893 to operate voyages on Norway's western and northern coast between Bergen and Kirkenes. Hurtigruten ships sail almost the entire length of the country, crossing the arctic circle and completing the round-trip journey in 11 days. The trip has been described as the World's Most Beautiful Sea Voyage, with stops in such places as Bergen, the Geiranger fjord, and the Lofoten Islands. The company has nearly 2% of the worldwide cruise market. More recently, Hurtigruten has begun operating cruises in other areas such as Greenland, Canada, South America, Iceland, Svalbard, and Antarctica.

Kongsberg is a town and municipality in Buskerud county, Norway. Kongsberg is the administration center in Kongsberg municipality. The city is located on the river Numedalslågen at the entrance to the valley of Numedal. The municipality of Kongsberg was established on 1 January 1838. The rural municipalities of Ytre Sandsvær and Øvre Sandsvær were merged into the municipality of Kongsberg on 1 January 1964.

Kongsberg is the site of the Royal Norwegian Mint (Norwegian: Det Norske Myntverket), which mints Norwegian coins and also produces circulating and collectors' coins for other countries. Kongsberg is also known for being the home of Norway's major defence contractor, Kongsberg Gruppen, formerly Kongsberg Vaapenfabrikk. Two of its well-known products were the Kongsberg Colt and the Krag–Jørgensen rifle.

Anker Brygge is located on the island of Lambolmen in the middle of Svolvaer Harbor. The Rorauer - old fisherman cabins - are all equipped with a kitchenette, living area, bedroom and ensuite bathroom. Wonderful buffet breakfast and extremely helpful staff.

Arctic Adventure Norway - Part 3 - Svolvær to Bodø

Part 3 of 3. From the Thon Hotel in Svolvær we travel overland to Borg to see the Lofotr Viking Museum and the impressive reconstruction of the Chieftain’s house. We visit Nusfjord, a charming fishing village. The following morning we return to Bodø by fast catamaran ferry and have time to tour the Norwegian Aviation Museum before our return flight home.
