David Alexander Johnston was an American United States Geological Survey volcanologist who was killed by the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens in Washington. A principal scientist on the USGS monitoring team, Johnston was killed in the eruption while manning an observation post six miles away on the morning of May 18, 1980. He was the first to report the eruption, transmitting Vancouver! Vancouver! This is it! before he was swept away by a lateral blast. Our Road Trip Through Washington State and Oregon (6.25 - 29.16)

We took an awesome road trip after the cruise! We saw many amazing mountains including Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Hood, which is home to the Timberline Lodge. The Lodge was used for exterior shots in the classic Stanley Kubrick Stephen King film adaptation: The Shining! We also went to Cannon Beach, where the end of The Goonies was filmed. I am sorry this took so long to upload. I had many technical difficulties, but I am happy that it is all up now for you guys to enjoy!
