    Ernst Abbe Sportfeld is a sports facility in Jena, Germany. It was dedicated on August 24, 1924 and was named after entrepreneur Ernst Abbe 15 years later. The facility is in southern Jena, directly on the Saale River. The City of Jena purchased the stadium from the Ernst-Abbe-Stiftung in 1991. The soccer and track stadium in the Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld is the home field of FC Carl Zeiss Jena. It was homestead for famous sprints, javelin throw and long jump athletes like Petra Felke and Heike Drechsler, when Sport-Club Motor Jena still existed, and it has a capacity of over 12,990. There are 6,540 seats with 4,010 covered seats in the main stands.     The Botanischer Garten Gera , also known as the Botanischer Garten der Museum für Naturkunde Gera, is a botanical garden located on the grounds of the Museum für Naturkunde der Stadt Gera at Nicolaistrasse 6, Gera, Thuringia, Germany. It is open daily without charge. The garden was created from 1897-1900 in the English garden style, and is the last surviving garden in front of the eastern wall. It was linked to the municipal Museum of Natural History in 1947. Today it contains about 300 plant species, including trees, culinary herbs, and medical plants, as well as a tower house built in 1864.

    The Rennsteiggarten Oberhof is a botanical garden specializing in mountain flora, located in Rennsteig at Am Pfanntalskopf 3, Oberhof, Thuringia, Germany. It is open daily in the warmer months; an admission fee is charged. The garden was established in 1970 on the grounds of a former quarry at an elevation of 868 meters on the Pfanntalskopf. In 1972 the Cultural Federation and University of Jena agreed to scientific support, and plantings began with material from the Botanischer Garten Jena. In 1980 an indigenous plant bog was created, with a nature garden begun in 1985 for protected plants from the Thuringian mountains, and in 1993 a garden of Thuringian herbs.
