Tingvoll is a municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is part of the Nordmøre region. The administrative centre is the village of Tingvollvågen. Other villages include Meisingset, Kvisvik, and Torjulvågen. The municipality covers a peninsula on the mainland as well as a few surrounding islands. Norwegian National Road 70 and European route E39 both run through the municipality. The 337-square-kilometre municipality is the 262nd largest by area out of the 422 municipalities in Norway. It passes by Hustadvika, an unsheltered part of the Norwegian Sea, connecting the island of Averøy with the mainland and Romsdalshalvøya peninsula. It runs between the villages of Kårvåg on Averøy and Vevang in Eida. Kvernes is a village in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village of Kvernes is located in the present-day Averøy Municipality on the east coast of the island of Averøya, along the Kvernesfjorden. There are two churches in Kvernes village: Kvernes Stave Church and the Kvernes Church . The stave church is now a museum. Kvernes was a municipality from 1838 until 1964, encompassing the whole island of Averøya, part of the Romsdal peninsula, and part of the island of Frei. Over time it gradually got smaller until 1964, when the 36-square-kilometre municipality was merged into Averøy.
