Trepassey , is a small fishing community located in Trepassey Bay on the south eastern corner of the Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland and Labrador. It was in Trepassey Harbour where the flight of the Friendship took off, with Amelia Earhart on board, the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean.

The Headland of Cape Pine is the point of land marking the boundary of Trepassey Bay on the Avalon Peninsula of the island of Newfoundland in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is the most southerly point in Newfoundland; at 46 36' 55 N, it is roughly the same latitude as the northern border of Italy. Cape Pine is also prone to tropical cyclones, with Tropical Storm Ophelia making landfall there in 2011.

The Cape Shore is a region on the southwestern portion of the Avalon Peninsula on the island of Newfoundland, Canada. Often confused or conflated with the Southern Shore , the Cape Shore is similarly rural and populated by Irish Newfoundlanders, but is geographically distinct. It is named for Cape St. Mary's, the southeastern tip of Placentia Bay, celebrated in the famous Newfoundland ballad Let Me Fish Off Cape St. Mary's. The Cape Shore begins south of Placentia and continues along the eastern shore of Placentia Bay, rounding Cape St. Mary's to include the St. Mary's Bay communities of Point Lance and Branch .

Miscou Island Lighthouse is an 11-metre -tall landfall lighthouse located on the North-Eastern tip of Miscou Island, at the entrance of the Chaleur Bay. It was built in 1856 and currently in use by the Canadian Coast Guard who owns the lighthouse, the land it is on, and also maintains it. It was built due to the shipwrecks that happened each year that could be prevented by a lighthouse. James Murray from Newcastle won the bid to construct the lighthouse. It is a federal Heritage Building that is open to the public to explore. In 2009 a parking area, washrooms, picnic area and a deck around the lighthouse was added.The light's characteristic is a single green flash that occurs every five seconds, emitted at a focal plane height of 14 metres . First Day Of Lobster Fishing (‎2018)

First day Of Fishing ‎Monday, ‎May ‎7, ‎2018.
In this specific lobster fishing area, the fish harvesters are allowed 250 traps each in total and fish for about 8 weeks each summer. They place their traps out in lines, 10 per line in this community, while some other places, fish harvesters have 8 per line. Some years catches are better than other years, depending on weather conditions. Cold weather causes the lobsters not to move a lot and storms can wreck havoc. Lobster fishing has been the primary fishery in this area since the 1880s. Years ago, many fish harvesters fished from this cove, now very little. However, those who do fish, fish on the license fished by their fathers and even grandfathers. Beautiful part of Newfoundland culture...
