The most remote island on earth is looking for employees
Tristan da Cunha is situated midway between South Africa and South America and is looking for farmers- well an agricultural advisor to be specific. Report by Sarah Duffy.
A visit to Tristan da Cunha, the most remote inhabited archipelago in the world, lying 2,000 kilometres (1,200 mi) from nearest inhabited land, Saint Helena, 2,400 kilometres (1,500 mi) from the nearest continental land, South Africa, and 3,360 kilometres (2,090 mi) from South America.
After Tristan da Cunha, we visit Nightingale Island to see the beautiful northern rockhopper penguins and other fauna.

A Day on Tristan Da Cunha
I was lucky enough to spend one full day on the remotest island in the world. Tristan Da Cunha is remarkably beautiful--a giant green and black volcano in the very middle of the South Atlantic. The people, one of the most isolated populations on earth, are so hospitable and friendly--I was honored to be able to meet so many of them.
Tristan da Cunha - No Place Like Home (24th October 1989)
Documentary about Tristan Da Cunha, one of the world's most isolated islands, with a population of only 300 people. Its only contact with the outside world at the time was a once a year mail boat. American producer, John Heminway travelled to the island on that boat and spent two weeks on the island. The film is a record of his journey and his experiences during his stay.

One can climb the volcano that erupted on Tristan da Cunha in 1961. This clip shows the island's only community, Edinburgh of the Seven Seas (the name for which no Tristanian actually uses). Tristanians refer to their home as the Settlement. September 14, 2013.
