Vallon-Pont-d'Arc is a commune in the Ardèche department, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Southern France. Vallon-Pont-d'Arc is a capital of prehistoric and cultural tourism. The Pont du Gard is an ancient Roman aqueduct that crosses the Gardon River near the town of Vers-Pont-du-Gard in southern France. The Pont du Gard, built as three tiers of archways to bring water to the city of Nîmes, is the highest of all elevated Roman aqueducts, and one of the best preserved. It was added to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1985 because of its historical importance. The aqueduct bridge is part of the Nîmes aqueduct, a 50-kilometre system built in the first century AD to carry water from a spring at Uzès to the Roman colony of Nemausus . Because of the uneven terrain between the two points, the mostly underground aqueduct followed a long, winding route that called for a bridge across the gorge of the Gardon River. The Ardèche is a 125-kilometre long river in south-central France, a right-bank tributary of the River Rhône. Its source is in the Massif Central, near the village of Astet. It flows into the Rhône near Pont-Saint-Esprit, north-west of Orange. The river gives its name to the French department of Ardèche. The valley of the Ardèche is very scenic, in particular a 30-kilometre section known as the Ardèche Gorges. The walls of the river here are limestone cliffs up to 300 metres high. A kayak and camping trip down the gorge is not technically difficult and is very popular in the summer. The most famous feature is a natural 60-metre stone arch spanning the river known as the Pont d'Arc .

Le pont d'Arc est un pont naturel, situé dans le sud de la France en Ardèche, à 5 km de la ville de Vallon-Pont-d'Arc. Le pont a une largeur de 60 m pour une hauteur de 54 m et a été découpé par la rivière Ardèche. C'est un endroit réputé des canoéistes, car ils peuvent passer en dessous et même toucher la roche. Il est surnommé la « porte d'entrée naturelle » des gorges de l'Ardèche.

Vallon-Pont-d'Arc est une commune française, située dans le département de l'Ardèche et la région Rhône-Alpes.

Ses habitants sont appelés les Vallonais.

Vallon-Pont-d'Arc est un haut lieu de la préhistoire et du tourisme culturel. Ce petit village, paisible en hiver, voit sa population multipliée par 10 en été.
