RK Borec is a team handball club from Veles, Republic of Macedonia. In the 1990s they had their biggest success winning the League and one Cup title. They compete in the Macedonian Handball Super League.Noted Macedonian handball player Pepi Manaskov started his career at RK Borec.

2. Markovi Kuli (Marko's Towers) Prilep
Markovi Kuli or Marko's Towers are situated to the northwest of Prilep, Macedonia just above the village of Varoš. The towers named after Serbian medieval Prince Marko Mrnjavčević are located on a 120–180 m high hill, surrounded by steep slopes covered with minute granite stones. The upper part of the former settlement can be reached from its north and south side. During the four-decade archaeological research, remnants indicating the existence of an early antique settlement — Keramija, were found. In the Roman period, this small village expanded into the southwest, a fact suggested by the several marble ornaments of an early Christian basilica. The Monastery of Treskavec , or St. Bogorodica, is a monastery situated on the rocky Mount Zlatovrv, 8 km north of Prilep, in the Republic of Macedonia. Built in the 12th century, it currently has only one monk.The monastery possesses a large collection of Byzantine frescoes. The oldest remaining date from the 15th century. It was rebuilt in the 14th century by Serbian kings Stefan Milutin and Stefan Dušan. In the mid-16th century it was renovated by knez Dimitrije Pepić of Kratovo.However, the monastery was destroyed by a fire in the early 2010s and, apart from the church, it is now in ruins. As of 2015, no restoration work has been launched by the Macedonian government.The monastery was the burial place of Serbian noblemen Dabiživ Čihorić and Gradislav Borilović.

Ilinden, also known as Makedonium , is a monument in Kruševo, Republic of Macedonia. It was officially opened on August 2 of 1974, on the 30th anniversary of the Second Session of the Anti-fascist Assembly for the National Liberation of Macedonia and the 71st anniversary of Ilinden uprising. The designers of the monument are Jordan Grabuloski and Iskra Grabuloska. It is dedicated to all the fighters and revolutionaries who participated in the Ilinden uprising of 1903, as well as soldiers-partisans of the Macedonia National Liberation Struggle 1941-1944.

7. Zrze Monastery Prilep
Zrze Monastery is located near the village Zrze, approx. 25km north-west of Prilep , Republic of Macedonia. The numerous remnants of the ancient period-pillars, basilica remains, and other exponents speak of the rich cultural tradition, of this area. Traditionally the monks lived in carved out stone hollows, from the mountain side cliffs. This is believed to date back to the 3rd and 4th century. Today, Zrze monastery complex consists of the church St. Petar and Pavle, the inns and several accessory rooms. The church has been renovated several times, and the painting is preserved only in fragments. In the 14th century, the church walls were painted with painting of extraordinary artistic value. Twelfth Century Church of St. Panteleimon, Macedonia

The small Twelfth Century Byzantine Church of St. Panteleimon, patron saint of physicians, was constructed in 1164 (and rebuit, and destroyed, and rebuilt - unfortunately like most churches in Macedonia). As guide Goran stated in the beginning of this tour, If you have no interest in churches, Macedonia is not the place for you. Well... Churches do start to bore until a tidbit of information turns the tide. Oh, all right, two tidbits of information.

1. Fresco images here show EXPRESSION on their faces and realistic touches. Before this time, faces were always painted straight on without expression; and

2. The Church's stucco decoration is depicted on the reverse of a Macedonian 50 Denar banknote.

Feel free to skim through the video since I am the first to confess nodding off during church explanations. Steve and I light candles, look and leave...

Štip, Macedonia

Štip (Macedonian: Штип) is the largest urban agglomeration in the eastern part of the Republic of Macedonia, serving as the economic, industrial, entertainment and educational focal point for the surrounding municipalities.

As of the 2002 census, the Štip municipality alone had a population of about 47,796.

Štip is the largest textile production center in the country; Center of the fashion industry in Macedonia, as well as the location of the sole public university in eastern Macedonia, Goce Delčev University of Štip.

The city of Štip is the seat of Štip Municipality.
