Vrdnik is a village in northern Syrmia, in the Vojvodina province of Serbia. It is located at southern slopes of Fruška Gora, at the border of the national park. Administratively, it belongs to Irig municipality. According to the 1991 census, the village had 3,488 residents, while according to the 2002 census, number of inhabitants was 3,704. Most of the inhabitants of Vrdnik are ethnic Serbs.

  • 1. Monastery of Vrdnik-Ravanica Vrdnik
    The Vrdnik-Ravanica Monastery , also called Little Ravanica , is a Serbian Orthodox monastery in Vrdnik in the Fruška Gora mountains in the northern Serbia, in the province of Vojvodina. The exact date of its founding is unknown. The records indicate that the church was built at the time of Metropolitan Serafim Jovanović, in the second half of the 16th century. The present church in the monastery was constructed in the period from 1801 to 1811. The icons on the altar screen and the vaults were painted by Dimitrije Avramović in 1853. Vrdnik-Ravanica Monastery was declared Monument of Culture of Exceptional Importance in 1990, and it is protected by Republic of Serbia.

    Petrovaradin Fortress , nicknamed Gibraltar on/of the Danube is a fortress in the town of Petrovaradin, itself part of the City of Novi Sad, Serbia. It is located on the right bank of the Danube river. The cornerstone of the present-day southern part of the fortress was laid on 18 October 1692 by Charles Eugène de Croÿ. Petrovaradin Fortress has many underground tunnels as well as 16 km of uncollapsed underground countermine system. In 1991 Petrovaradin Fortress was added to Spatial Cultural-Historical Units of Great Importance list, and it is protected by the Republic of Serbia.
