Wangen im Allgäu is a historic city in southeast Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It lies north-east of Lake Constance in the Westallgäu. It is the second-largest city in the Ravensburg district and is a nexus for the surrounding communities. From 1938 to 1972, Wangen was the county seat of the Wangen rural district.

It is maintained as a garden island and a model of excellent environmental practices. Administratively, the island has been a part of Konstanz since December 1, 1971, when the municipality of Litzelstetten, of which Mainau was part, was incorporated into Konstanz. Mainau is still part of Litzelstetten, now one of 15 wards of Konstanz. The island belongs to the Lennart Bernadotte-Stiftung , an entity created by Prince Lennart Bernadotte, Count of Wisborg, originally a Prince of Sweden and Duke of Småland. Wir starten in der Lindauer Strasse und gehen durch das Stadttor bis auf den Marktplatz. Dann gehen wir über die Herrenstraße bis zum Frauentor. Anschließend gehen wir über die Schmiedstraße bis zum Eichendorffmuseum. Über die Bindstraße geht es via Postplatz bis zum Marktplatz. Weiter geht es über den Metzigbach und über den Kellhof wieder zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.

German carnival parade is such a madness!! It is also known as Fastnacht or Fasching in German. A weeklong celebration happens all over Germany, with different dates in different parts. I visited the one in Gengenbach, in the Black Forest area in southern Germany & I had such a great time!

Cycling the Donau-Bodensee Radweg in Germany Day 4 - Wangen to Lake Constance

The last day of my cycling trip along the Donau-Bodensee Radweg in Germany. Today's cycling took me from Wangen to Lake Constance itself. This has been a great cycling trip, and revealed to me a side to Germany I knew very little about. To think that I have cycled in this general are twice, and have seen so little!
