Watrous is a census-designated place in Mora County, New Mexico, United States. Its population was 135 as of the 2010 census. Watrous has a post office with ZIP code 87753, which opened on April 14, 1868. The community is located along Interstate 25.

1. Bandelier National Monument Los Alamos
Bandelier National Monument is a 33,677-acre United States National Monument near Los Alamos in Sandoval and Los Alamos Counties, New Mexico. The monument preserves the homes and territory of the Ancestral Puebloans of a later era in the Southwest. Most of the pueblo structures date to two eras, dating between 1150 and 1600 AD. The Monument is 50 square miles of the Pajarito Plateau, on the slopes of the Jemez Volcanic field in the Jemez Mountains. Over 70% of the Monument is wilderness, with over one mile elevation change, from about 5,000 feet along the Rio Grande to over 10,000 feet at the peak of Cerro Grande on the rim of the Valles Caldera, providing for a wide range of life zones and wildlife habitats. Scenic New Mexico Highways

Here is a video of two highways that offer scenic views of the New Mexico high desert mesa terrain. The first highway is called the Wagon Mound Highway, route 120 that runs from Wagon Mound to Roy. Turning south at Roy towards Logan, the second segment begins just east of Mosquero as the road drops off of the vast mesa into the valley below. It hard to think of this area as mountainous but the elevation at Wagon Mound is over 6300 ft, so it is actually higher than Denver by a thousand feet. I used my old Sony HX1 mounted to a tripod on the passenger side to shoot this. There's a little shake sometimes, but I'll be happy to look back at it and remember the trip. Thanks for watching.

Steins Ghost Town | Old Gold Mining Town | New Mexico | USA | HD

Steins ghost town is in Stein's Pass of Hidalgo County, New Mexico. It was originally called Stein's Pass after the nearby pass through the Peloncillo Mountains (Hidalgo County). The pass was named after United States Army Major Enoch Steen, who camped nearby in 1856, as he explored the recently acquired Gadsden Purchase.

Shakespeare is a ghost town in Hidalgo County, New Mexico, United States. It is currently part of a privately owned ranch, sometimes open to tourists. The entire community was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Hovenweep National Monument - a fantastic day trip from Bluff, utah

HOVENWEEP NATIONAL MONUMENT
Protects six prehistoric, Puebloan-era villages spread over a twenty-mile expanse of mesa tops and canyons along the Utah-Colorado border. Multi-storied towers perched on canyon rims and balanced on boulders lead visitors to marvel at the skill and motivation of their builders. Hovenweep is noted for its solitude and undeveloped, natural character.

Location: A pleasant 35 minute drive from Bluff, Utah

Fairbank Ghost Town | Railroad Stop | Cochise County | Arizona | USA | HD

Fairbank is a ghost town in Cochise County, Arizona, next to the San Pedro River. First settled in 1881, Fairbank was the closest rail stop to nearby Tombstone, which made it an important location in the development of southeastern Arizona. The town was named for Chicago investor Nathaniel Kellogg Fairbank who partially financed the railroad, and was the founder of the Grand Central Mining Company, which had an interest in the silver mines in Tombstone.
By the mid-1970s Fairbank was all but deserted.
