Fort Union National Monument is a unit of the National Park Service of the United States, and is located north of Watrous in Mora County, New Mexico. The national monument was founded on June 28, 1954. The site preserves the second of three forts constructed on the site beginning in 1851, as well as the ruins of the third. Also visible is a network of ruts from the Mountain and Cimarron Branches of the old Santa Fe Trail.There is a visitor center with exhibits about the fort and a film about the Santa Fe Trail. The altitude of the Visitor Center is 6760 feet . A 1.2-mile trail winds through the fort's adobe ruins.

Bandelier National Monument is a 33,677-acre United States National Monument near Los Alamos in Sandoval and Los Alamos Counties, New Mexico. The monument preserves the homes and territory of the Ancestral Puebloans of a later era in the Southwest. Most of the pueblo structures date to two eras, dating between 1150 and 1600 AD. The Monument is 50 square miles of the Pajarito Plateau, on the slopes of the Jemez Volcanic field in the Jemez Mountains. Norris Edwin Bradbury , was an American physicist who served as Director of the Los Alamos National Laboratory for 25 years from 1945 to 1970. He succeeded Robert Oppenheimer, who personally chose Bradbury for the position of director after working closely with him on the Manhattan Project during World War II. Scenic New Mexico Highways

Here is a video of two highways that offer scenic views of the New Mexico high desert mesa terrain. The first highway is called the Wagon Mound Highway, route 120 that runs from Wagon Mound to Roy. Turning south at Roy towards Logan, the second segment begins just east of Mosquero as the road drops off of the vast mesa into the valley below. It hard to think of this area as mountainous but the elevation at Wagon Mound is over 6300 ft, so it is actually higher than Denver by a thousand feet. I used my old Sony HX1 mounted to a tripod on the passenger side to shoot this. There's a little shake sometimes, but I'll be happy to look back at it and remember the trip. Thanks for watching.

Steins Ghost Town | Old Gold Mining Town | New Mexico | USA | HD

Steins ghost town is in Stein's Pass of Hidalgo County, New Mexico. It was originally called Stein's Pass after the nearby pass through the Peloncillo Mountains (Hidalgo County). Hovenweep National Monument - a fantastic day trip from Bluff, utah

HOVENWEEP NATIONAL MONUMENT
Protects six prehistoric, Puebloan-era villages spread over a twenty-mile expanse of mesa tops and canyons along the Utah-Colorado border. Multi-storied towers perched on canyon rims and balanced on boulders lead visitors to marvel at the skill and motivation of their builders. Hovenweep is noted for its solitude and undeveloped, natural character.

Location: A pleasant 35 minute drive from Bluff, Utah

Fairbank Ghost Town | Railroad Stop | Cochise County | Arizona | USA | HD

Fairbank is a ghost town in Cochise County, Arizona, next to the San Pedro River. First settled in 1881, Fairbank was the closest rail stop to nearby Tombstone, which made it an important location in the development of southeastern Arizona. The town was named for Chicago investor Nathaniel Kellogg Fairbank who partially financed the railroad, and was the founder of the Grand Central Mining Company, which had an interest in the silver mines in Tombstone.
By the mid-1970s Fairbank was all but deserted.
