Western Norway is the region along the Atlantic coast of southern Norway. It consists of the counties Rogaland, Hordaland, Sogn og Fjordane, and Møre og Romsdal. The region has a population of approximately 1.3 million people. The largest city is Bergen and the second-largest is Stavanger.   • 1. Hardanger Bridge Ulvik
    The Hardanger Bridge is a suspension bridge across the Eidfjorden branch of Hardangerfjorden in Hordaland county, Norway. The bridge connects the municipalities of Ullensvang and Ulvik. It replaced a ferry connection between Bruravik and Brimnes, and thereby shortens the driving time between Oslo and Bergen. It is the longest suspension bridge in Norway.

    Trolltunga is a rock formation situated about 1,100 metres above sea level in the municipality of Odda in Hordaland county, Norway. The special cliff is jutting horizontally out from the mountain, into free air about 700 metres above the north side of the lake Ringedalsvatnet.Popularity of the hike to Trolltunga and rock formation itself has exploded in recent years. The increased popularity has turned Trolltunga into a national icon and a major tourist attraction for the region. Until 2010, less than 800 people hiked to Trolltunga each year. In 2016 more than 80,000 people hiked the 27 kilometres round-trip from Skjeggedal, making it one of Norway's most popular hikes.

    Kaupanger Stave Church is the largest stave church in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. It is located in the village of Kaupanger in Sogndal Municipality, on the northern shore of the Sognefjorden. It is still in use as a parish church, having been in use continuously since its completion in the mid-12th century. The church is part of the Kaupanger parish in the Indre Sogn deanery in the Diocese of Bjørgvin.The church is a Norwegian Cultural Heritage Site. The nave is supported by 22 staves , 8 on each of the longer sides and 3 on each of the shorter. The elevated chancel is carried by 4 free standing staves. The church has the largest number of staves to be found in any one stave church. It is the largest of the five stave churches in Sogn og Fjordane county.

It is located on the small island of Grip about 14 kilometres northwest of the city of Kristiansund in the Norwegian Sea.     Old Pine Trees is a painting by Lars Hertervig from 1865. Lars Hertervig painted Old Pine Trees at the age of 35 in Stavanger. He then worked in a carpentry and paint shop in the town, after studying the art of painting a few years at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf for Hans Gude. He had also visited England and the Mediterranean countries.

The monument was erected during the millennial celebration of Norway's unification into one kingdom under the rule of King Harald Fairhair .Haraldshaugen was unveiled on July 18, 1872 by Crown Prince Oscar in connection with the one thousand year anniversary of the Battle of Hafrsfjord. The monument is designed by Norwegian architect Christian Christie. Norwegian national poet, Ivar Aasen, wrote a poem entitled Haraldshaugen to commemorate the event.     The Nesset Parsonage lies 3 kilometers southwest of Eidsvåg on the south side of Langfjorden in the municipality of Nesset, Norway. The parsonage is especially known for being the boyhood home of the writer Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson. His father, Peder Bjørnson, served as the parish priest here from 1837 to 1853. Bjørnstjerne lived in Nesset until 1844, when he moved to Molde and started high school. The rural community and nature at the parsonage in Romsdal had a strong impact on Bjørnson's poetry.The parsonage has been developed in a partnership between the Romsdal Museum as a museum-based consultant and the Norwegian Church Endowment , which owns the property. The parsonage is the municipality's millennium site.
