Zillah is a city in Yakima County, Washington, United States, with a population of 2,964 as of 2010 census. Tourist attractions include the Teapot Dome Service Station, the fortuitously named Church of God Zillah and a number of local wineries.

Free-roaming horses have been a part of the landscape in Idaho and central and eastern Oregon and Washington since the Spanish brought the species to what is now the United States.
The eagle is an amazing bird, but for me the symbol that best epitomizes the spirit of America is the wild horse and the buffalo. Both great creatures that at one time roamed free throughout much of the land. Today there are only pockets of them found mostly in the Western States, but when you see them, it is still an amazing sight to behold.
We've seen buffalo in Yellowstone National Park and South Dakota and now we saw wild horses on the Yakima Nation land in Washington State.

Wild Horses of the Yakama Homeland have been around for generations and as long as our people can remember. The oral history kept by our people tells of the cultural and traditonal value this prized animal has among the Yakama People. Revered for its endurance and strength, the horse has become a symbol of the true Yakama Spirit and strength that survived the most difficult times over the last 200 years. Today, the horse remains at the same status and is often a prized possession with most tribal members who remember the days when horse chasing and catching was an art itself.

At the present time (2010) there are believed to be over 12,000 wild horses on the reservation.

Roadside Attraction - Teapot Dome Gas Station

The Teapot Dome Service Station was constructed in 1922 as a memorial to the Teapot Dome Government scandal. It is an example of novelty architecture and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The teapot spout serves as the stove chimney.

The gas station was originally located on Old State Highway 12 near Zillah, Washington but was moved in 1978 during construction of Interstate 82. The station was moved again in 2012 to it's current location near Interstate 82 on 1st Ave, Zillah, WA. Zillah is 20 miles SE of Yakima.
