Bainskloof Pass is situated in the Western Cape province of South Africa, on the Regional road R301 between Wellington and Ceres. This 30 kilometres pass was completed in 1853 and is one of the most picturesque passes in the Cape.

Bainskloof pass has some amazing views and is situated about 60km from Cape Town CBD. Also there is some amazing hiking trails and camping grounds. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.

Best Waterfall Hike Cape Town - Bain's Kloof
Just over an hours drive from Cape Town CBD you'll reach Bain's Kloof and you'll see a gorge running parallel to the pass. That Gorge is where you'll find the Witte river and Rock Hopper Trail. The full Trail is a one-way several hour hike covering over 8km's of rock hopping and is Definitely one of the most beautiful trails in the Western Cape.
Because not everyone has the ability to take on a hike of that magnitude we've curated a shorter version of the best part. The adventure is only 3km's in total and takes you through little winding ravines, up and over a few boulders. You'll do this with ease and finally arrive at an amazing Rock Formation where a waterfall cuts through in a magical way.
We've taken over 100 people here before on different occasions and one word they all replied was 'WOW'

So Max, Inge, Sybrandt and myself headed up Bainskloof pass early one morning to see if we could find any cool pools to do some jumps off of.
It was a super tough hike through some very rugged terrain. Well worth it though as this place has a beauty of its own.
