Trip to the Oxford Christmas market, I also went to Boswell & Co department store, great big toy section on the upper floor, where I got the original edition Thomas in the Thomas the Tank Engine & friends adventures range and a trolls figure and yellow stretchy man, enjoyable day out all in all.

The Oxford Christmas Market in full swing, showcasing the lovely atmosphere that surrounds the stalls and customers. It brings a warm and christmassy feeling to everyone that walks by, and allows a friendly connection between people young and old. It's certainly is a beautiful Christmas tradition worth keeping for many years to come.

A real lakeside charmer! This immaculate 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage enjoys a northwest view of tranquil Kapikog Lake with beautiful gardens and meticulous landscaping. Kapikog lake boasts shallow, sandy water entry at shoreline and boater friendly deep water at the dock. Make memories exploring the lake and nearby hiking/ATV/Snowmobile trails and come back to enjoy spectacular long lake views on the large multi-tiered deck with a hot tub and sauna/change room which can easily be converted to a guest bunkie. To our Friends and Loyal Customers:
With saddened hearts, we want to let you know that, after 68 years in the same Beverly Hills location, our family owned business, Kramer's Pipe & Tobacco Shop, will be closing its doors December 31. It is bitter-sweet for Jim and me, but times change and we are looking forward.
We are forever grateful to the Glassell and the Tronstein families, our landlords for 65 years, their care and friendship meant the world to my parents and to us. They were an important part of building and preserving the village of Beverly Hills, which was referred to in a recent Beverly Hills Courier editorial, ending with Despite all the rhetoric, about Beverly Hills being a 'village', there is very little 'village' left.
Our decision was made, and made easier for us to accept, due to many factors:
1) CA state Tobacco Taxes (now 67% - which lumps together pipe tobacco & cigars with cigarettes. What other legal product do we tax so high?) causing people to buy out of state - over the internet. (It appears that marijuana will be taxed at a lower rate in CA come January!)
2) new pending FDA regulations which would make it nearly impossible for small shops to blend pipe tobacco,
3) both city and state restrictions/legislations – that, in our opinion, unfortunately have gone way overboard in their rulings regarding, again, a legal product,
4) the city deeming it necessary for construction purposes, and seemingly their only choice, to remove our on-street metered parking since the beginning of this year - turning Little Santa Monica into a virtual freeway - to the total dismay of small businesses lining our street,
and mostly 5) the end of our lease.
One saving grace is my father's 7 private house pipe tobacco blends (from the early 1950's) now having a new life (with our exact formulas and same blending tobaccos) on-line at smokingpipes.com under Kramer's Pipe and Tobacco. Sykes Wilford, Rick Newcombe, and Brian Levine - you gave my father's legacy a chance to live on.
Good-byes are too hard. I know we will see many of you. And we are keeping our website (kramerstobaccoshop.com), email (kramerstobaccoshop@prodigy.net), and our Facebook page (Kramers Pipe & Tobacco Shop) going.
Thank you from the depths of our hearts - and my parents' hearts - for your support and loyalty.

Hammond & Champness Lift in Boswell's, Oxford
This lift was installed in the early 90's and serves six levels. B, G and 1 are all store levels; 2, 3 and 4 are staff levels, accessed with a key. All fixtures on this lift are original. The lift is serviced by ThyssenKrupp.
Before this lift was installed, there was an old, caged and gated goods lift in it's place. The old lift was almost twice the size of this lift, this lift could have been much larger. It's a shame the shaft was enclosed when this lift was installed, it would have added more character to the lift.

Oxford Christmas Market - The Set Up
Nicole Rahimi is the brains behind Oxford's Annual Christmas Market, held for the sixth year in succession on Broad Street in central Oxford. Originally from Germany, Nicole explains her passion for organising the event, and details the hard work that goes into errecting the 49 separate stalls. The Oxford Christmas Market runs from 10th - 20th December 2015, and promises to be the best yet.
Oxford Rent Guarantee Scheme
Oxford City Council has completed the first year of its pilot Rent Guarantee Scheme (RGS), with 40 tenancies already signed up to the scheme.
The RGS works with private landlords and tenants, providing financial and tenancy management support as an incentive to landlords. At the same time, it helps tenants improve their capacity to sustain a tenancy in Oxford’s increasingly unaffordable rental market.

As is my love of the Black London taxi, and of this song, which I can play, I thought it the perfect idea to bring the 2 together. I would have attempted to play the actual soundtrack myself, but the only issue, and it was a major one, is that not only can't I sing, but no one has a voice like lead singer Brian Johnson.
I found a road that wasn't too far into Kent from where I live, & where I knew very little traffic goes through, and filmed the guitar sequences. I played the song on my iPhone through my amp, then played along on guitar so I could get it to match up in the editing process. I had 2-3 cars pass me, and, a few dog walkers - people in the country really do say hello when they go by - even when you are doing something crazy.
The taxi footage was just plotting up in town at several busy cross sections & filming passing cabs. I wanted to make it as dynamic as possible; not just panning cabs as they drove by, so I got down low, tilted, cropped in close etc...
Editing took several hours of making sure that all the singing and playing synced perfectly. I had to actually cheat a little by slowing or speeding up certain bits of footage so they synced - hopefully I have hidden them well enough that you won't notice them.
