CARTA Bus ride on Route 210
This is my first ride! And it is also my very fist bus video.
So here is The Detailed Story about how I filmed this. So back in march, I was visiting relatives in Myrtle Beach (about 90 miles north of Charleston) and we went on a daytrip to Charleston. A few Bus rides were in the agenda for the day so I was ready to whip out my iPhone and start recording. I also rode a different bus(can't remember the route number) and a ferry to fort Sumter. Unfortunately, the ferry footage got cut short on both rides, and the bus video Is too long to upload, but technically, I can still upload it. i was also gonna film a horse tour of downtown, and an uber ride, but I didn't want my phone battery to die. Oh, and the Bus Model is a New Flyer Industries MD30. Another thing I have to say is that at some point in the video the driver tells me not to stand up. I find this a stupid rule as I have been on many buses in Germany and out there they don't care if you stand up or sit. Anyway, that is enough talking, enjoy my fist bus ride in Charleston!

There are only sixteen buses of this model in the fleet, but are the very first low-floor vehicles in CARTA's history.

Ex Golden Gate/CARTA 1430.. And the change begins..
Golden Gate Transit ordered these suburban Metros with a beautiful livery but when first arrived at CARTA, they were all painted over all white.. not the best paint jobs but CARTA wasn't going to repaint them in the existing scheme that their New Flyer D-35HFs wore as they did not have a robust financial backing from the state of South Carolina. So, paint them simple white then wrap them for their entire service life at CARTA. So time to bring back what Flxible wanted their units to look like..

The suburban configuration featuring one-door located only in the front; overhead luggage racks; reading lamps; and padded cloth-leather motor coach seats. Also featured are roll-signs that are hand-cranked by the bus operators in their cockpit area.
