Today I’m in Surrey, British Columbia. Just south of the Fraser River is the production facility for the popular Central City Brewers and Distillers. They started out small, as a brewpub in 2003 but have rapidly expanded to the size they are today. I sat down with their brewmaster and part-owner Gary Lohin.

Commercial Description - An ale fashioned to survive the long voyage from England to India during the British colonization. Hops, hops, and more hops, this ale has an intense aroma and a long lingering finish. Drink as an appetizer on its own, or pair it with any hearty dish. Pepper spray incident Central City Brewers Co. Surrey City 2017 (4K)

Fire fighters responded to Central City Brewers Co, after reports of a noxious smell. Someone was peppered sprayed near the pub. Firefighters located one patient across the street, but they declined medical assistance.

Great Craft Beer, OK Nachos-Central City Brew Pub-Surrey, BC
Great craft beer, especially the ESB Red Racer beer (ESB stands for Extra Special Bitter) is available at Central City Brew Pub in Surrey, BC. Unfortunately unless you are satisfied with barely OK nachos I wouldn't recommend ordering nachos there. The nachos portion is definitely on the smaller side and the dips are downright pitifully small and of only two kinds.
There's just no comparison with the nachos and dip portion size and variety you'll find at Main on Main in Vancouver.
The craft beer is great at Central City Brew Pub the nachos are barely OK to be polite.

Central City Brewers + Distillers (Surrey, British Columbia) released a Canada-wide collaboration with 12 Canadian breweries. Each of the 12 collaboration beers is inspired by the province in which it comes from, and was brewed at Central City’s brewery in Surrey. In Ontario, this pack was split into two 6-packs (East, West) and sold at the LCBO for $14.95 / 6-pack.

Little in the way of big or fancy has been built in the Bridgeview area of Surrey in recent years, but that changes with the arrival of Central City Brewers + Distillers' facility.
