Historic Camp Chesterfield A Tour of its Grounds and History
The Indiana Association of Spiritualists (IAOS) and Historic Camp Chesterfield have been a part of Indiana's unique and varied religious history since 1886 when the IAOS was first formed. From 1890, Camp Chesterfield has served as the Spiritual home for the association, as well as for countless numbers of Hoosiers who have passed through its gates. Architecturally unique, Camp Chesterfield is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as an historic district by the National Park Service. This DVD was made possible, in part, by a grant from Indiana Landmarks and the Endowment for the Humanities to serve as a walking history tour of the grounds and its structures dating from Camp Chesterfield's early years until today. Narrated by Rev. Prof. Todd Jay Leonard, the Camp Historian and Archivist, and produced and directed by Shingo Ono of Ono Creative Design, this DVD offers viewers a glimpse into the long history of the IAOS and Camp Chesterfield, detailing historically remarkable religious displays sprinkled with an abundance of natural beauty that is a part of its unique topography, harmoniously, if not effortlessly fused with the architecturally sgnificant structures and buildings that are of great historic value to this Hoosier landmark.
