Our visit Poznań travel guide documentary covers some of the top attractions including a food guide, top sightseeing tourist attractions and the city by day including visiting castles, churches and museums. We also cover off-the-beaten-path outdoor activities you won't find in a typical Poznań tourism brochure, Poznań itinerary or Poznań, Poland city tour.
10 Things to do in Poznań, Poland Travel Guide script:
Eager to explore Poznan, our first stop of the day was the Old Market Square, which is a sight to behold. As soon as we turned the street from our apartment, we were greeted with the Old Town Hall.
The top attraction here is a row of buildings known as the Merchant Houses. They stand shoulder to shoulder and are painted in different patterns, adding a bright splash of colour to the town.
The Royal Castle dates back to 1249, though if you think it looks rather new, that’s because it was mostly destroyed during WW2 and it had to be rebuilt. After paying for our tickets, we made a beeline straight for the tower, to enjoy some views of Poznan.
After visiting the castle, we did some wandering around the Old Town and ended up at the Former Jesuit College. This is where young people were educated in theology and philosophy.
Today the college houses the City Council, so we couldn’t really tour the place, but they do have a nice courtyard and a cafe for visitors.
Another thing to do in Poznan is visit Fara Poznanska, a beautiful Baroque church located right next to the Former Jesuit College. We arrived just as they were setting up for the weekly concert, so we sat down for a bit of music.
From there, we walked west of the Old Town, where things have more of a modern look. We saw the Fontana Wolnosh-chi Wolności, had a quick peek inside the Imperial Castle, and we also discovered that Polish people have a big love for ice cream.
We later googled Kolorowa and discovered that it’s the best ice cream shop in Poznan, so maybe we should’ve stood in line!
After visiting Cathedral Island, we went past Śródka, which is a really cool neighbourhood with lots of street art. We then had a little break by Lake Malta, which looked to be a popular weekend spot.
Another cool thing to do in Poznan is to visit KontenerArt, which is part urban beach, outdoor bar, art space, children’s playground, food cart central, and herb and spice garden. This was an unexpected find and it was really nice to see people of all ages enjoying this space.
On a rainy afternoon, we paid a quick visit to Poznan’s Archaeological Museum. Admittedly, it’s mostly geared towards children, but it was a fun way to stay dry.
And that’s a wrap for our quick travel guide to Poznan! We hope this video gave you a few ideas of things to do around town on your visit. If there are any other things to do in Poznan that you think should be on this list, feel free to share those with fellow travellers. Happy travels and until next time!

Poznan, Greater Poland (Wielkopolskie), Poland TRAVEL VIDEO
Poznan is perceived as the historical capital of Greater Poland — a region in central-western Poland. In terms of population, it's the fifth largest Polish city.
It carries many ages of tradition, reaching all the way back to the 10th century, and the beginnings of the Polish nation.
Poznan's old town is filled with monuments of various eras. The city hall at the Old Market Square is an ideal example of Renaissance architecture. It features the town's famous billy-goats. Fara church and the former Jesuit college represent Baroque. Poznań also features Poland's oldest cathedral. Other parts of town feature Secession monuments, and the monumental style of the Caesar's District.
????Visiting an old Polish cemetery in Poznan, step into history! Vlog 13 (4K)
I came across an old Polish cemetery called Cmentarz Bohaterów in Poznan, Poland. It's located right next to the large park called Cytadela. Poland is a country that has long been affected by war. There are a long row of young soldiers from WW1 buried here. If you have Polish descendants, maybe these could even be some of your early ancestors. I hope we can learn from history and not repeat our mistakes.

Poznan is a city on the Warta River in west-central Poland, in the Greater Poland region and is the fifth-largest city in Poland. It is best known for its renaissance Old Town and Ostrów Tumski Cathedral. Today, Poznań is an important cultural and business centre and one of Poland's most populous regions with many regional customs such as Saint John's Fair (Jarmark Świętojański), traditional Saint Martin's croissants and a local dialect.
Poznań is a centre of trade, sports, education, technology and tourism. It is an important academic site, with about 130,000 students and the Adam Mickiewicz University - the third largest Polish university. Poznań is also the seat of the oldest Polish diocese, now being one of the most populous archdioceses in the country. The city also hosts the Poznań International Fair – the biggest industrial fair in Poland and one of the largest fairs in Europe. The city's most renowned landmarks include Poznań Town Hall, the National Museum, Grand Theatre, Fara Church, Poznań Cathedral and the Imperial Castle.
Stroll into Poznań's Old Town square on any evening and you’ll receive an instant introduction to the characteristic energy of Wielkopolska’s capital. The city centre is buzzing at any time of the day, and positively jumping by night, full of people heading to its many restaurants, pubs and clubs. The combination of international business travellers attending its numerous trade fairs and the city's huge student population has created a distinctive vibe quite independent of tourism.
Poznań is a town steeped in history, as it was the first capital (with Gniezno) of Poland and seen by many as the birthplace of the Polish nation. Today it is a diverse and vibrant town, with much to divert the traveller. It has a stunningly rejuvenated central square, thriving night-life, fascinating museums and many attractions in the surrounding area. For train buffs, Poznań is the home of Europe's last surviving steam-hauled passenger service. With a strategic position on the Berlin – Moscow train line, Poznań will be for many their first experience of Poland.
Poznań has an extensive public transport system, mostly consisting of trams, such as the Poznań Fast Tram, and both urban and suburban buses. The main railway station is Poznań Central Station to the southwest of the city centre; there is also the smaller Poznań Wschód and Poznań Garbary station northeast of the centre and a number of other stations on the outskirts of the city.
Poznań has many historic buildings and sights, mostly concentrated around the Old Town and other parts of the city centre. Many of these lie on the Royal-Imperial Route in Poznań – a tourist walk leading through the most important parts of the city showing its history, culture and identity. Portions of the city centre are listed as one of Poland's official national Historic Monuments (Pomnik historii), as designated 28 November 2008, along with other portions of the city's historic core. Its listing is maintained by the National Heritage Board of Poland.
( Poznan - Poland ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Poznan . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Poznan - Poland

☠These things were built to murder and destroy! Poznan, Poland. Vlog 14 (4K)
Remnants of the World Wars are everywhere in Poland, even in many of their largest parks. I visit Park Cytadela in Poznan, Poland and come across some old tanks and planes from Word War 2. Some places in Poland are like stepping into a time capsule, but we should always remember that these machines were built for one single purpose. To kill and destroy, we should never forget this or we will continue to repeat our mistakes.
