Diving Around the World | Coromandel NZ
Had an amazing weekend diving in the Coromandel, New Zealand. I have been wanting to dive up here since I first started, so it was a cool experience to explore the area.
We had spent most of our time hunting snapper which are notorious for being hard work. Hours were spent finding ledges and gathering kina/bait to lure them in, I was lucky enough to get a shot at this big guy.
Credit to David Saxon for some footage on here too.
Enjoy!

Auckland and Coromandel.wmv
Beginnings are always interesting and having Olivia as a personal guide to Auckland made it fun as well.
After a few days of dilemma and a crucial coin toss it was decided - we would travel NZ in a rented station wagon, our very own Kiwi car. and it was in that day that our gang was formed:
Nacho Alejandro from Basque Country - a Chef and a mountain man!
Corina Sprecher from Switzerland - the animal lover!
and me...
Our first stop was the Coromandel and the intriguing hot water beach (100 tourists dig holes in a very small strip of sand and find very hot water), and the enchanting Cathedral Cove (where the movie Narnia was filmed).
Hope you like it!

Coromandel
Coromandel is the name of a town and harbour on the western side of the Coromandel Peninsula, which is on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. It is 75 kilometres east of the city of Auckland, although the road between them, which winds around the Firth of Thames and Hauraki Gulf coasts, is 190 km long.
The town was named after the peninsula, which was named after HMS Coromandel, which sailed into the harbour in 1820. At one time the harbour was a major port serving the peninsula's gold mining and kauri industries. Today, the town's main industries are tourism and mussel farming.
Coromandel Harbour is a wide bay on the Hauraki Gulf guarded by several islands, the largest of which is Whanganui Island.
The town and environs are a popular summer holiday destination for New Zealanders. Coromandel is noted for its artists, crafts, alternative lifestylers, mussel farming, and recreational fishing. The population was 1476 in the 2006 Census, an increase of 36 from 2001

Cathedral Cove, New Zealand 2018
Cathedral Cove is located in the North Island of New Zealand, in the region of Coromandel.
Here the most important adivces:
1) Check the tide times before you go, as you will be able to enjoy the most during low tides
2) Go there really early in the morning. There is a 45 minutes walk to get to the famous Cathedral Cove from the top of the car parking and after 10am the beach is really packed of tourists. Of course it's not the same peaceful paradise with the crowds.
Cameras used:
