Exploring Tromsø, Norway to see the Northern lights
In Spring 2017 we travelled 350 km above the Arctic Circle to a Northern Norway city Tromsø. The Arctic landscapes took our breath away and fresh air fulfilled our lungs. But the main thing - we saw the Northern Lights, or how others call it - Aurora Borealis in its full glory.

Visit Winter Norway: Tromso, Gateway to the Arctic
Tromso is one of the best places in the world to see the Aurora Borealis. A major cultural hub above the Arctic Circle, there are ample hotels, restaurants, stores and activities.
And Tromso had almost two hours of daylight when we visited. A big plus!

Life in the Arctic Circle - Northern Norway
DIRECTOR’S NOTES:
Antoine Janssens here. I am the writer, director and filmmaker of Life in the Arctic Circle - Northern Norway
I’m a 29 year old movie director, photographer and storyteller. I’m extremely passionate about sharing positive messages through emotional content. I’ve been fortunate to travel the world and experience it’s diversity. Meeting different cultures, people and experiencing the richness of wildlife, nature and untouched places.
LIFE IN THE ARCTIC CIRCLE
This movie is something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time. The North and everything up there fascinates me. Especially during the winter season. Huge untouched landscapes, rough weather that constantly changes, rich wildlife and people who live through this daily.
In February 2019 I went with my girlfriend to northern Norway to spend a few days there. I couldn't resist the urge to film everything I saw. There was so much beauty up in the Arctic.
When I got home, I saw the potential of my footage and knew there was more that I could do with it. However, I was missing key elements that could turn this into a story. A few months later, I returned to the same place to complete what I had already created. But this time with very concrete content and story ideas. For this trip I was accompanied by my good friend
Florian Fatton, who is a great photographer, and Michel Janssens (my dad), who like me loves the Nordic culture.
Creating content up there is unique. Everything is beautiful (landscapes, lights etc ...) but it’s not easy. It’s dark almost all of the time in winter. We only had 2 hours of real light per day!
This movie is a short story about a man from the Sami tribe who’s lived up there for his entire life. It's also the first video of a series of others that I’m working on... ☺

Tromsø - Arctic Feelings 4K (dog sledding, snowshoeing, northern lights, adventures, norway)
I was not supposed to make a video of this trip... This adventure took me so much energy with the very cold weather and sometimes severe weather conditions. I was mainly focused on making pictures. It took me a long time to gather all the video rushes and make something I'll be not ashamed to show.
Tromsø is the capital of the Northern Norway. I spent 10 days in the area to explore mountains, fjords and amazing landscapes. Back there, I lived incredible adventures and saw so many wonderful things. I hope this video is a good elegy to the beauty of the North.
The activities are endless : dog sledding, snowshoeing, exploring mountains, looking for northern lights, watching whales...

????????Chasing Lights in Tromsø, Norway
Thomas Hunger is an average German fellow but with a touch of quirkiness—his obsession with the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). He beams with childish enthusiasm and his eyes light up with wonder every time he talks about this natural phenomenon.
But Thomas is not a visitor seeing it for the first time nor is he just a regular tour guide—Thomas “chases” Aurora like a stormchaser would chase tornados. He is in the business of selling the experience of seeing the Northern Lights even though he can never guarantee his guests that he and his team will succeed catching one. Still, his trips are filled with excitement and frenzy as he constantly consults weather apps to find it, communicates with his team on possible sightings, and crosses open borders into Sweden and Finland with his head fixed skywards, waiting for Aurora to poke out from behind the clouds at night.
When the van they travel in stops his enthusiastic guests get off and plant a thicket of tripods in the snow—cameras pointed up and ISOs boosted high to vividly capture the magical and undulating green waves in the sky.
Thomas runs one of the most successful companies in Tromsø, Norway incidentally called, Chasing Lights. Guests from as far as Malaysia, China and India make the journey just to be mesmerized by this wash of green that fills the skies of Arctic nights. It’s an experience to cross off the bucket list, his guests often say.

SUMMER in NORTHERN NORWAY travel vlog! (Swimming in the ARCTIC CIRCLE)
This is by far the coldest beach i've ever swam on! Swimming in the Arctic Circle on summer is still cold but it was a great experience to try in case you visit the Northern Norway! As a girl who have been living in a tropical environment her whole life, I never knew that I have to wear a lot of clothes just to go swimming! Summer in Northern Norway is definitely fun but I think 4 days is enough for me as I am not really fond of traveling in cold places for a long time. I am not complaining though I know how lucky I am to visit one of the most beautiful places on Earth and I even get to vlog it! Can't wait to explore more of the Northern countries very soon!
Hope you guys like this video and please comment below which is the coldest beach, ocean, lake or river you've ever swam on!
