Giant Florida Everglades Largemouth Bass Secrets Revealed
In this episode I finally reveal the secrets to my Florida Everglades Big Largemouth Bass fishing success. My friend and client Gus seems to think I have gone bananas but there is no denying that this secret helps me catch giant Florida Everglades Largemouth Bass trip after trip.
On a serious note. We started the chilly morning throwing the Gamblers Lures Big EZ, which accounted for the two largest bass. The air temperature started to rise and so did the bass. We moved to the topwater baits like the Storm Chug Bug, Lucky Craft Gunner Bait and the Rapala Skitter Walk. It was an incredible day of fishing with a great friend Gus, Barry White on the radio and the stack of bananas i brought lol

South Florida Bass Fishing Guides - Big Bass In The Everglades
South Florida Bass Fishing Guides Big Bass In The Everglades - Without a doubt -- South Florida bass fishing and everglades bass fishing is some of the best in the world. And everglades bass fishing guide John Pate is known all over the world as one of the best everglades bass fishing guides. The first bass on this video John helped his client, Joe Perez catch a MONSTER 11.5 pound bass at Lake Ida.
Many people who have been fishing in South Florida for a long time think this is the biggest bass to be caught at Lake Ida in over 20 years. Clearly, a 11.5lbs bass is extremely rare and a sought after trophy bass no matter where you are fishing. Most bass anglers fish their whole lives and never come close to a 10 pounder.
We weighed this bass on a certified scale and there is no exaggeration. The video is proof -- this is a MONSTER bass of a lifetime.
This year (2012) has definitely been the year of the big bass. Several state records have been caught and even though Florida's state record has not been broken (yet) John Pate has been guiding clients to very big bass.
This 11.5 pound trophy bass was caught on a junebug Tuscororan Pro Lures Tee Pee Stix. Tee Pee Stix are great for catching both big and numbers of bass in South Florida, especially the everglades and all over of the country. Here are some of the best ways to fish them...
(1) Most of the time we do not use any weight. They are cast out and just let them fall all the way to the bottom. Many times bass hit them on the initial fall. Then slowly twitch them back the the boat with frequent pauses.
(2) They are great when pitched or flipped weightless into holes in lilly pads and other cover. Like around boat docks - skipping them UNDER boat docks is one of the best ways to catch HUGE bass.
(3) During the hot sumer months this lure is deadly when fished with a carolina rig off ledges and drop off near or in deep water.
(4) The following technique is awesome and not many fisherman know about it: It can be pulled across the surface with a steady retrieve causing a wake... just like fishing a big worm on the surface. When a bass follows -- stop retrieving and drop your rod tip. Let the tee pee stix fall. Often times the bass cannot resist it. I like to use braided line with a flourocarbon leader for this technique. So when you stop the retrieve and the bait falls the big bass not not see the braided line.
If you would like to learn how to catch tropphy bass in South Florida and the Florida everglades like this 11.5 pounder, give Florida bass fishing guide, John Pate a call. He has been bass fishing in South Florida his entire life and he has been a professional guide since 1973.
His phone number is 954-325-5310. Or go to:
South Florida bass fishing is awesome... it is even better with a great guide.
