Video notes:
1) Denver's free MallRide buses are on 16th street and will take all the way to the Capital Building. They are all 100% electric so they don't smell at all! It runs 7 days a week and stops on every block. They run approximately 3-15 minutes and every 1-2 minutes during peak times.
2) The Dikeou Collection can be hard to find, but it's well worth it! Bring headphones to take the free, extensive cell phone tour. It's entrance is right next to Jamba Juice and T-Mobile. The gallery is owned by Devon Dikeou and it is very interactive.
3) The Denver Blue Bear is called I See What You Mean and it's supposed to make you feel like a piece of iconic Colorado imagery is right outside of the Convention Center for all its visitors to see. Plus, the artist saw a cool picture of a bear peering into a window.
4) Take a tour at the United States Mint: the tour is free and is approximately 45 minutes. There are six tours: 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
5) The Colorado State Government Capital Building was born out of the Gold Rush in Denver, Colorado, so it's only fitting that the dome consists of gold leaf that is worth over $10 million dollars. There's also the entire world's supply of Colorado Rose Onyx marble inside of the building.
6) The only way to get to the 360 degree views on top of the Capital Building is to take a free tour!
7) Skyline Park is an urban three block park that allows you to do free seasonal events, such as ice skating! A pop up beer graden is also available.
8) The Great Divide Brewing Company is known for their various versions of Yeti Stout, so don't hesitate to try it!
9) Union Station is 136 years old, but it was completely remodeled in 2012 and opened up in 2014 as a large, mixed use complex.
10) My favorite bridge is the beautiful Denver Millennium Bridge, which is the world's first cable-stayed bridge. It's 200 feet high and it is located in LoDo.

Walking tour of 16th Street Mall in Downtown Denver, Colorado 【4K】
Exploring Downtown Denver starting from 16th Street Mall to Civic Center Park. Built in 1982, the 16th Street Mall is a pedestrian-friendly mall packed with shopping, restaurants, and attractions. The mall, 1.25 miles long, runs along 16th Street in downtown Denver, from Wewatta Street (at Union Station) to the intersection of 16th Avenue and Broadway (at Civic Center Station). Free shuttle buses, known as Free MallRide, cruise up and down the mile-long Mall seven days a week.
Civic Center is dominated by government buildings, including the Colorado State Capitol with its gold-plated dome. Dotted with fountains, statues and a Greek amphitheater, Civic Center Park draws crowds in summer for festivals, concerts and a cluster of popular food trucks. A huge collection of international works fills the Denver Art Museum, while the United States Mint runs coin-making tours.

Denver RTD - 16th Street MallRide Compilation
Denver RTD has run the Free 16th Street MallRide service since 1982. The first MallRide buses were diesel-powered and electric-powered MCR/Vetter low-floor buses, which were replaced by the CNG hybrid TransTeq EcoMark 45-foot low-floor buses. Originally, the replacements for the TransTeq buses were to be 36 45-foot Designline EcoSaver hybrid-electric buses, but the company went out of business, but not after delivering two of the units. Eventually, BYD Motors from China received the order for 36 replacement buses, all of which are in service now. These buses travel up and down the 16th Street Mall, which was built for transit and pedestrian shopping access only, stopping at every city block carrying shoppers, diners, commuters, and party-goers 21 hours a day, 7 days a week. The service runs from the Civic Center Station at 16th/Broadway to Union Station at 16th/Wewatta.

The Free USA Train Trip Part 1: San Francisco to Denver
As a child, I dreamed of embarking on a Hollywood style train trip across the American continent. One in which I would hop on and off as I pleased without the thought of money and time holding me back. However, as I grew older, the inevitable reality of life set in. As Americans, our most common means of long distance transportation is by air travel. We are ingrained with the concept of doing things by way of the fastest and most convenient route. By doing so, we take for granted an old and advantageous mode of transportation. For most, neglecting the locomotive wonder that this country possesses has proven to me to be an unfortunate modern American mistake. Traveling across the USA by train gives one an entirely new perspective and is one that everyday Americans should not avoid.
A large part of the reason why embarking on such a trip is frowned upon is due to the relationship between time and money. In this country, train travel isn’t always exactly cheap when you consider how much time it takes one to reach a destination. However, we must remember that the faster the travel time, the more we miss. Although 5 hours of flying around 3,000 miles across the country is faster than 4 days by train, how much do you really see from an airplane seat thousands of feet high in the sky? Aside from seeing and experiencing more, I think it serves as a good reminder of the importance of slowing life down every now and then. There is no denying that most Americans live a little too fast paced. Also, in terms of cost, I have found a way to bypass the price of train travel. I recently booked a train trip from West coast to East coast (with stops along the way) for absolutely FREE. To make things even better, I was able to bring someone along with me for no additional fee and I was able to book fairly luxurious accommodations compared to the typical basic economy seats. For two of the three legs, this lack of a price included having our own sleeper car with shower access and free meals.

Denver Mile High City Capital Tour Colorado
Denver Colorado has its capital building right in the heart of the city. The dome on the roof is of pure gold.
The brass market on the 13th step leading into the building marks the height of one mile above sea level. Visitors can take a free guided tour.
The Denver Mint building is only one of six locations making coins for circulation, as well as storing gold and silver bullion.
The walls are four and a half feet thick.
50 million coins are minted here every day, and visitors can take a free guided tour. (alas, no samples are given out)
16th Street Mall is a busy commercial street a mile long, right in the heart of the city.
Free buses run continuously all day long in the center of the street, stopping at every block.
Micro breweries, shops and pavement cafes tempt you to linger and appreciate the atmosphere.
Travel south from here along Colorado Boulevard to First Avenue/Cherry Creek Mall for a flavor of 150 great American stores.
Northwards from here along Colorado Boulevard for just a few miles is the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
Three floors hold a planetarium, IMAX theatre, and exhibits showing the best of wildlife from the USA, Colorado and the rest of the world.
Visit the Sky Terrace on level three for a great view over the Denver skyline and the Rockies in the background.
Below is the museum park with its boating lake, manicured gardens, walkways and lots of Canadian geese.
Alongside the northern boundary of the museum park is the Denver zoo, home to nearly 4000 animals, an entire rainforest under glass and a replica artic circle with polar bears, penguins and sea lions.
