FIT INDIA EVENT ORGANISED AT KV GOLE MARKET, NEW DELHI ON MAHATMA GANDHI JAYANTI (02nd Oct 2019)
FIT INDIA EVENT ORGANISED AT KV GOLE MARKET, NEW DELHI ON MAHATMA GANDHI JAYANTI (02nd Oct 2019).
Honb’le Prime Minister launched FIT India Movement on 29th August, 2019 at New Delhi. Various states also organised different programs as part of the launch.
Our Nation will be celebrating 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd Oct, 2019 in a big way. Mahatma Gandhi was a practisioner of Fitness, Disciplined Life and Hygiene, Trash/Litter is the biggest threat to Indian ecosystem. In his Mann ki Baat address to the nation Honb’le PM had said “This year, on the 2nd of October, when we celebrate Bapu’s 150th birth anniversary, we shall shall lay the foundation of a new revolution against plastic, by people themselves, throughout the country,”
We have envisaged this special concept of FIT INDIA 2 km Plogging event (02 Oct – at least 2 kms) as a special tribute, where we invite institutions (school, college or otherwise)/ Organisations/ Council/ Panchayat /Corporations/ Societies or RWA /NGO/Marathon groups/ special interest groups to Organise an event.
Won’t it be satisfying to take your gloves and a bag and start picking up garbage/litter along the way while you are jogging, instead of just passing by and silently cursing the individual who dumped it?

Driving in Delhi (Old Rajinder Nagar to Gole Market) - India
Rajinder Nagar (often spelled Rajender Nagar or Rajendra Nagar) is a residential colony in Central Delhi. The name comes from Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first president of India. It is bordered by the Central Ridge Protected Forest on the east and south, IARI on the west, and Karol Bagh on the north. It is a constituency in the Legislative Assembly of Delhi.
Gole Market or Gol Market is a neighborhood in the heart of New Delhi, built within a traffic roundabout by Edwin Lutyens in 1921. It is one of New Delhi's oldest surviving colonial markets and is considered an architecturally significant structure. The dodecagonal market was built in the axis planned by Edwin Lutyens as part of New Delhi's layout. Peshwa Road, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Road, and Bhai Veer Singh Road are four radial roads leading from the market.

Connaught Place Market, CP Delhi, India
Connaught place is one of the largest commercial, financial and business centre's in New Delhi, India. The former location of the head quarters of the British Raj, it is counted as one of the top heritage structures in the capital city of Delhi.
Today it is the 4th most expensive office destination and the 5th highest priced market in the world. Connaught Places, is instantly recognizable on any map of Delhi, as a big circle in the middle with radial roads spreading out in all directions, it house some legendary restaurants like Embassy, and cinemas like Odeon, Regal and Rivoli, (also Rivoli is now PVR Rivoli, there is also PVR Plaza which is in CP).
Connaught place is Delhi's pride, there is nothing better than sitting in Central park on a warm winter afternoon.
The Central Park in CP or Connaught place has ben rebuilt in 2005/6 after the construction of the Delhi Metro station, Rajiv Chowk, which in a way is like the heart of the metro network in Delhi, it is also the interchange for the yellow and blue lines of the metro and is one of the largest and busiest stations on the entire network. Today, right above the station in Central park, cultural events are regularly hosted. CP, is a hub, most youngsters planning an evening out do connect here, and then kick off the evening. The list of restaurants, street food and brands like Keventers all call CP home.

Celebrating Independence Day at Kendriya Vidyalaya Gole Market
Celebrating Independence Day
Kendriya Vidyalaya Gole Market
Principal : Parveen Kumar Malik
Independence Day is annually celebrated on 15 August, as a national holiday in India commemorating the nation's independence from the United Kingdom on 15 August 1947, the day when the UK Parliament passed the Indian Independence Act 1947 transferring legislative sovereignty to the Indian Constituent Assembly. India still retained King George VI as head of state until its transition to full republican constitution. India attained independence following the Independence Movement noted for largely non-violent resistance and civil disobedience led by the Congress Party.
Independence coincided with the partition of India, in which the British India was divided along religious lines into the Dominions of India and Pakistan; the partition was accompanied by violent riots and mass casualties, and the displacement of nearly 15 million people due to religious violence. On 15 August 1947, the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru raised the Indian national flag above the Lahori Gate of the Red Fort in Delhi. On each subsequent Independence Day, the incumbent Prime Minister customarily raises the flag and gives an address to the nation.[1] The entire event is broadcast by Doordarshan, India's national broadcaster, and usually begins with the shehnai music of Ustad Bismillah Khan.
Independence Day is observed throughout India with flag-hoisting ceremonies, parades and cultural events. It is a national holiday'

Chor Bazar Delhi - Buy cheap price shoes, watches, electronics, camera & more
Chor Bazar, thieves market is located near Chandni chowk, opposite Red fort. Market starts from Red Fort and goes upto Daryaganj. This is a 2 km long stretch where you can get to buy - shoes, Watches, DSLR, electronics , jeans and much more.
You may want to support this channel:
Chor bazar starts at 4 am in morning every Sunday and goes on till 4 pm evening. I reached here at 5 am and was amazed to discover that thousand of buyers were already there.
How to reach chor bazar Delhi.
Travelling by metro- Get down at chandni chowk metro station if you are travelling from Gurgaon or Jahangirpuri side.
Get down at Red fort station if you are travelling from Faridabad side.
If you are travelling to Delhi through interstate bus, then you can get down at Kashmere gate ISBT , take a auto and come down to Red fort chor bazar, its hardly 2 kms distance from there.
Things to be careful of when going to Chor bazar of Delhi.
1. Be careful of your belongings, like mobile and purse. This place is very crowded.
2. Test before buying, we bought pen drive without testing and found that to be fake. Deo also we found to be fake. I also bought 2 bags, which I found to be good value for money.
3. You can also buy used electronics - like TV, laptop, more over some people also sell computer accessories like hard drive, USB cables etc.
4. I found 2 people who were selling 2nd hand video camera at competitive price. Seller had thorough knowledge of camera features and was ready to get it tested before selling it to us.
I have a JVC video cam at home, which is not of any use for me. I spoke to one of the sellers and he got ready to buy from me for Rs 1000, which means you can also sell your old electronics here at chor bazar.
5. You will also get to see some people selling cameras here, golden rule is check and test before buying any second hand item.
6. Shoes, jeans - I saw many people selling brands at cheap rates, that is merely copy with illegal labels. I don't see any merit in buying shoes just for the heck of showing the brand, when comfort will not be there of a good branded shoe.
7. You will experience high negotiation on prices, visit to Chor bazar will certainly enhance your negotiation skills.
From over all experience perspective - If you are in Delhi or travelling to Delhi, its a must visit market, I am sure lot of learnings will evolve around the way markets behave.
Over all there will be compromise in product quality, buy from there only if you are super sure that you are buying the right product at right price
