Somers Point / Linwood Bike Path - New Jersey
This path is located right outside of Ocean City, New Jersey. I did not know what to expect from this path but I was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful, well maintained path.
I did not complete the whole trail, I turned around at Tilton Road to return to Ocean City. But, I do plan on riding this path again.
After I got home I did some research on this path and found this great description of it on Trailink.com:
This is a true community trail: four small cities are tied together by this 6.5-mile corridor, each maintaining their short section and calling it a different name. Starting in Somers Point, a few blocks from the Atlantic Ocean, a large, bright sign welcomes you to the SOMERS POINT BICYCLE PATH. The trail then heads north through Linwood, Northfield and Pleasantville. Atlantic City is about a dozen miles northeast, and the area leans toward an urban setting. Frequent street crossings require caution.
Most of the trail travels through residential neighborhoods and the schools, parks and playing fields in between. Students use the path as a safe walking route between home and school. Residents of the trail's neighborhoods frequently walk it for exercise or take their babies for a ride along in strollers. Lightly traveled neighborhood roads—and busier Shore Road to the east—parallel much of the bike path, so a meal is never far away. A few short wooded sections provide a change of pace from the residential neighborhoods that make up most of the path's viewscape.

We start on U.S. 30 in the center of Egg Harbor City and turn left onto State Route 50. We cross the railroad tracks into Galloway Township, and then soon after we cross the border into Hamilton Townshp. At the end of the curve in the road we make a right onto the dead end road, Walnut Street, which takes us to the eastern edge of Makepeack Lake WMA, where we have shot videos before. The last time we were there, there was extreme flooding.

Ocean City is on New Jersey's coastal Jersey Shore. The city has a string of beaches and a boardwalk with shops, eateries and amusement parks. Gillian’s Wonderland Pier offers classic rides like the Giant Wheel. Playland’s Castaway Cove features several roller coasters and themed mini-golf. To the south, Corson’s Inlet State Park, with trails and a boat launch, attracts shorebirds to its dunes and wetlands.
Ocean City originated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on May 3, 1884, from portions of Upper Township, based on results from a referendum on April 30, 1884, and was reincorporated as a borough on March 31, 1890. Ocean City was incorporated as a city, its current government form, on March 25, 1897. The city is named for its location on the Atlantic Ocean.
Known as a family-oriented seaside resort, Ocean City has prohibited the sale of alcoholic beverages within its limits since its founding in 1879, offering miles of guarded beaches, a boardwalk that stretches for 2.5 miles (4.0 km), and a downtown shopping and dining district. The Travel Channel rated Ocean City as the Best Family Beach of 2005. It was ranked the third-best beach in New Jersey in the 2008 Top 10 Beaches Contest sponsored by the New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium. In the 2009 Top 10 Beaches Contest, Ocean City ranked first.
Ocean City, New Jersey is a world famous seashore community located in the heart of the Jersey Shore. At the northern tip of Cape May County, it is perfectly situated for a vacation; just 20 minutes from Atlantic City, 70 minutes from Philadelphia, and two hours from New York.
