Walking tour of Bermuda
Historic Town of St. George, Bermuda
Our walk through the historic Town of St. George, Bermuda, starts on Water Street, a popular shopping and dining area of the old town which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In King's Square we can see the Town Hall with its ducking stool. Crossing to Ordinance Island we discover a replica of the Deliverance. The pilot vessel St. David is also tied up at the island. Next we get a sight of the Spirit of St. George, a catamaran tender that takes Norwegian Cruise Line visitors between the West End Cruise Terminal and the old town. We then proceed to the State House, which was Bermuda's first legislature and dates from 1620. Our stroll takes us to the East end of Water Street and then on to the monument to Admiral Sir George Somers who is responsible for the island's settlement. Our stroll then takes us through the narrow alleys of St. George where we can see the tower of the Catholic Stella Maris Church rising up above the white washed roofs of the charming cottages. We pass the Lili Perfumery and explore more alleys before arriving at St. Peter's Anglican Church. It was established in 1612 and it is the oldest Protestant church in continuous use in the New World. The walk ends in the church yard with its blooms of bougainvillea and fragrant frangipani.

Bermuda: African Diaspora Heritage
St. George's Parish is a World Heritage site, nevertheless the African heritage landmarks are hard to find without a map. Barber's Alley is the site of the home and barbershop of Joseph Hayne Rainey, who was to become the first black member of the US House of Representatives. At the end of Petticoat Lane (or Silk Alley) is Pilot Darrell's Square, named after the first free black Bermudian to own his own home.In the western graveyard of St. Peter's Church (1612)a wall plaque commemorates a small segregated area where slave and free blacks are buried.

Life Bermudaful
A day in Bermuda is a day like no other. Your island escape is just two hours from most major east coast U.S. airports.
Start your day with a spectacular view and a meal filled with local flavors — the codfish breakfast is a Bermudian favorite. Take a walk along the waves on one of the island’s legendary beaches, among them Horseshoe Bay Beach, one of USA Today’s Top Caribbean beaches. At just 22 square miles, Bermuda is easy to get around — you’re always just minutes from some of the world’s best golf courses, historic lighthouses, eco-adventures, exciting water sports and much more.
If you’re in search of a thrill, take a running jump into the ocean at Admiralty House Park, one of Men’s Journal’s Most Adventurous Beaches for 2015. Enjoy one of Bermuda’s signature cocktails — the Dark ’n Stormy or the Rum Swizzle — at an open-air lounge, just steps from the water. Head for the open seas aboard a yacht: Bermuda’s sailing heritage runs deep and the island will host the prestigious America’s Cup in 2017.
On Wednesday nights during the summer head to Hamilton’s Front Street for Harbour Nights, a street party offering food, drink and live entertainment, including Bermuda’s colorful Gombey dancers.

ROYAL NAVAL DOCKYARD 2016
History, Heritage, and a whole lot more! See what the Royal Naval Dockyard has to offer! Its where memories are made, and history happens!
A TOUR THROUGH ROYAL NAVAL DOCKYARD - SANDYS PARISH - BERMUDA
